Before I DLed Gforce I looked through the forums about win 8 and seemed that running it was not an issue. Here is my system info and what I am seeing. Hopefully you gurus can shed some light on this.
Win 8 64bit
I am running the standalone while streaming Pandora through Firefox.
My audio output is digital fiber.
Gforce is running but there seems to be no input from the audio channel. I noticed during the install that it was quite sluggish to install, which is not the nature of this computer. It is an 8 gig system with SSD drive that win and gforce is installed on.
When I enter fullscreen mode I am unable to exit it, the only way that I can get it off the screen is to cntrl-alt-del to the task manager launch screen and then restart the box. The right click menu is not coming up when in full screen mode, although it comes up when not in full screen mode. Gforce in FS overlays ALL backgrounds, i.e. when I launch task manager it will flash through then go back to Gforce.
I noticed that on the gforce control that there are no selections in any of the dropdowns, could this be coming from a bad install or do I need to DL components into GF that populate these?
One last note is that I am using XBMC to control all media on this computer, it is solely built as a media PC. Are there any of the supported players that will integrate into this? I have not even tried any of this yet, just trying to work through these issues above
Let me know your ideas on this, I am very technical in PCs and Windows but this is the first time into Gforce.

Hello Travlin
Couple of things to start with:
Which version of G-Force are you using?
Did you have a previous version of G-Force on your PC before downloading your current version?
To the best of my knowledge G-Force is not compatible with XBMC.
List of players supported by G-Force:

Re: Win 8 and standalone version
Hi Travlin
1- hit the escape button it works for me.
2- When right clicking in fullscreen the context menu cannot be seen but it is still there, it will flicker a bit when you move the mouse over it. If you can place the mouse over the enter exit option you can still click it to back out of fullscreen.
Theres probably a key stroke for that too but I dont know which key it is.
also another issue that can cause this is Apples bonjour program which installs silently when ever any Apple product is installed. If you find Bonjour .exe in your computer delete it or find a way to uninstall it completely . It shouldnt have any bad effects on your system, restart and the toolbar should light up.
As far as your sound issues go, Right click the gforce window and look under the audio input source, there you should see your computers audio outputs if you do not see the one you need then most likely it is not yet supported .
another thing that can effect G-force responce is the overall volume on your system, the lower your volume is on your player or system the less G-force will react no matter how far the slider in the toolbar pushed over.
make sure all the volume sliders are maxed in the player and your system volume panel. Go to windows hardware and sound, manage devices, then look under the recording tab and make sure your main output is listed there and that the volume is all the way up.

If the toolbar does not light up then it is possible that your firewall is not allowing it to communicate with the G-force window. make sure it has permissions to do so and the toolbar should light up. G-force communicates via tcp connections.Travlin wrote:I noticed that on the gforce control that there are no selections in any of the dropdowns, could this be coming from a bad install or do I need to DL components into GF that populate these?.

Ps. G-force should install in just a few seconds. Do complete uninstall and then find and delete all traces of the soundspectrum folders in your comp. there is one in the app data section make sure you delete that one to. then do a fresh install. If you have the same issues with a dragged out install contact support and tell then exactly whats going on.Travlin wrote:Let me know your ideas on this, I am very technical in PCs and Windows but this is the first time into Gforce.

Stripped it, reloaded and the load when quickly this time.
Sliders are up and it runs but doesn't seem to be tied to the music.
Full screen still locks in and won't go away LOL.
The firewall is open to the proggy but the toolbar drop downs for setup are not populated and the 3 blue dropdowns at the top of the bar are empty (at least won't open)
I'm going to try to load beta and see whats up there.

Well I loaded the beta and it runs better
I found that the exit from full screen 3 finger salute doesn't drop it but followed by esc does. Esc alone doesn't
Still not tied to the audio though and it seems strange. Audio is up everywhere in the system and within Gforce it shows realtech as an input option now. The only thing I can think of is that it is looking at the realtech sound stream but not deeply enough to pick up my true output is the realtech digital fiber output. I enabled the 'normal' realtech output but it sees no audio level since I am not using that output.
Thanks for the input on the broken toobar, I turned the firewall inside out making sure gforce can talk at all levels and still nothing there. At least I can forget that for now. How can I light up the 32bit version of it instead of the 64?
