Tool bar failing to connect to GF on all apps
Tool bar failing to connect to GF on all apps
Each time I invoke GF, the too bar appears but then an error message appears saying: "Toolbar failed to connect to G-Force in "xyz player". Then it says Firewalls and other network security maybe the problem. Trouble is, I don't know what settings to change. I use ESET Firewall but found nothing explicitly blocking the toolbar. I use Vista so what other setting should I modify?
I'm on cable only. It just happens when I start iTunes or Real player. The tool bar will appear, and then the error message. None of the function work any more. It used to work fine, but lately there has been a problem. The error mentioned a possible problem with a firewall, but I can't see why it should.69Voltage wrote:This also happens to me when trying to use my iPhone and Rowmote to control iTunes and GF wirelessly on my Mac Mini. I have no problems when controlling the Mac Mini via my MacBook Pro using Screen Sharing.
Are you trying to control GF wirelessly Jorne?
G-Force and the G-Force Toolbar communicate with one another using TCP/IP, an internet protocol, and sometimes this communication can get disrupted by security features or utilities within your system or local network. Try FULLY disabling any firewall and anti-virus software you use, and if it addresses the problem you can then add the G-Force apps as exceptions. If you're on Windows Vista or 7, try also disabling Windows Firewall and User Account Control (in the "User Accounts" section of your Control Panel) as these security utilities can sometimes block inter-application communication.Jorne wrote:I'm on cable only. If you're using a version of GF prior to 3.9.4, last suggestion would be to uninstall Bonjour from your system.
