g-force on an asrock ion 330?

Post by rapanuy »

Hi.
Can anyone give me an OK for g-force and iTunes on an asrock pc?
My old PC (AMD AThlon 64 3000+ 1,8ghz, 2GB RAM) has a pain opening office, outlook or whatever when g-force runs.

Now I would like to buy an asrock, especially because it wastes no power (pc runs all day for musik).

Thx,
Mike

To buy:

* Intel Atom 330 (DualCore) 1,6ghz, Nvidia ION-Plattform
* 500GB HDD, 4GB DualChannel DDRII,
* 1 x HDMI (with HDMI to DVI adapter), 1 x D-Sub VGA, 6 x USB 2.0, 1 x S/PDIF (Optical), Gigabit LAN
* NVIDIA® IONTM graphics, support DX10 / Full HD 1080p

I ordered an Ion 330.
It might work concerning those screens (for your information):

Liniks lead to red x's :(

Once you're up and running with the Ion 330, please post your results running G-Force. Like what's the highest resolution you can get with a smooth framerate, etc...

That Ion 330 defintely looks tempting. :D

People in Germany wonder why you only see an X.
I also do in internet explorer, but it works with the firefox.

Here is the german thread - give it a try.

These are screens with benchmark comparisons including the ion330.

Well, a bit better to my old AMD Athlon64 3000+ 1,8ghz SingleCore.

V-Bar runs good, the standalone or the iTunes Visualiser give the MiniPC a CPU usage of 26%, and I still have the feeling of a "stuttering" visualiser.

I´ll set up a DualCore E6300 2.8ghz these days and then I´ll compare to my old AND the AsrockMini (btw.: an absolute silent PC - great).

If g-force runs smooth there I know what I´ll keep.
