It has been suggested that several configs offered in both SS.com's and Chkman's Extras repositories do not work as they are "from previous versions" of the program.
On the contrary, these can *easily* be brought up to grade with the current release version and I'll tell you how.
1. Since version 2.5, all WaveShape and Particle effects and these config types only have required the addition in the code of what are called Meta values. *These can be easily added to any Wave/Particle file that lacks them.* I will be glad to answer any questions asa to how to go about this on another thread or in private e-mail.
BTW, the recent additions of these new .png files *in no way* affect the functionality of their corresponding .map files...at least for me on my 15" iMac G4. These are merely pic files of a band showing the color gamut of the palette. I might suggest that Andy's description of the .png's as a replacement be edited to "complement".

jay why not put a list of values that need to be added to the configs that need updateing?
you do realize that 9 out of 10 GF users have no idea how to modify the configs manually let alone what values need to be added or what meta data even is. imho most users run GF right out of the box without ever getting to know how to really customize GF and I think a lot of the questions asked here in the forum reflect that.
Its obvious that you know far more about scripting and the workings of GF than most everyday people so why not start a thread instructing users how to help themselves a bit. here are some common questions,
where are the configs?
how do I open and edit them?,
theres a lot of numbers there which ones need to be effected?
meta data ? what the heck is that?
wouldnt it be easier to post the info so people can look to it for themselves?
I know I would have been very interested in knowing how to update the figs myself, chkmans extras have been around for a long time and this is the first time I have heard that the configs can be fixed.
ps. I only warn people about the ones that need updating so thay dont go crazy when they see the error messages when GF tries to open one of these figs.

its been a long while since I tried installing your packs and I got the error message but since then there have been a few others who have recent versions of GF and noted that some of the figs gave an error message.
Idont have the time right now to install your extras to see whats what but as soon as I do I will get back to you.
