Problem With Standalone in Version 5.0.4

Post by BCOOL »

Hi, The Standalone in version 5.0.4 is not working properly in that the Wave Shapes run jerky not smooth and in a short time WhiteCap freezes up. Also should my screen saver come on(I use G-Force screen saver) and I go back to WhiteCap, WhiteCap is left all scrambled. The last time this happen I couldn't close it. I could minimize it to the Task-Bar but that's all.WhiteCap wouldn't show up in the Task Manager either. I had to reboot as a final option. There were no other programs running at the time only QCD and the Standalone. bcool

System Information:
Version of OS: XP PRO MEDIA CENTER EDITION VERSION 2002
Version of WhiteCap: Platinum 5.0.4
Version of media player: QCD 4.51a
Graphics hardware info: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200

Hello Bcool

recently I installed another vis called geiss, right after instalation whitecap would not work nor screensaver included.

as soon as I removed geiss eveything was fine. I dont know why it happend but it did so if you have this prog ( as its been around a long long time ) this could be your problem although Im not sure.

I dont know why geiss would mess with whitecap but it did.

try uninstalling any other vis you might have and see if whitecap comes back other than that the only thing I can suggest is for you to updagte your video drivers and see if that helps.

sorry I wasnt more help

:)
