Solid Shapes

Post by aquasurfer »

Just wondering if there is an option or plug-in for g-force gold to cause it to display 3-dimensional shapes and generally present a 3-dimensional picture. Maybe complex shape "organisms" could be defined that inhabit the 3-D space, each having color and shape characteristics that morph with the music. These "organisms" or "creatures" come and go from view through the g-force window on this "space". Different "species" could interact with each other according to certain rules. There are also inanimate 3-D objects that co-exist and float around in this space, such as colorful mushroom forests and rainbow waterfalls.

This is possible, in a way

There's no plug-in that I know of that can do this. However, I am currently working on something which will do something similar. Basically, I'm creating my own 3D modeled and rendered MPG's of "organisms" (in this case, caterpillars and butterflies), in black-and-white, and then writing a G-force script that loads the animation file as a particle, which basically does what you describe except that these 'organisms' are not intelligent, they're just pre-rendered video. But it is still pretty neat. Rendering as wireframe makes for interesting results. You have to do a lot of script tweaking to get it to display right... You could also make "colorful mushroom forests' and the like using similar methods, and perhaps compositing multiple G-force renderings in Premiere or After Effects, to broaden the color possibilities. (this requires Darkroom, btw).
