When I right mouse click on the G Force visualization in Media Player 10 a menu pops up with that option on it.

it is my understanding, and i am sure i will be corrected if wrong but a slideshow refers to the amount of time an effect will be on screen before transforming to the next, slideshow includes the clour maps, the flow fields and the wave shapes, so therefore if slideshow mode is off we end up with an effect the will not cycle to the next waveshape, flowfield etc. I think thats right, i am sure its in the documentation somewhere m8y.

BTW, the slideshow simply refers to the sequence of effects as they randomly cycle through. Each effect, therefore, has its own slideshow to go through, sprites included. The time it takes for transitions of any kind to occur has nothing to do with it...to the best of my knowledge.

Hi... If you hit the F-key to turn slideshows 'OFF', the same WaveShape, FlowField, and ColorMap that are currently playing will continue to play until the end of time or until you kill G-Force. If you hit the G-key and turn slideshows back 'ON', WaveShapes, FlowFields, and ColorMaps will return to cycling randomly. Take care.
