- Ensure you are using the most recent version (2.7.3 as of this posting)
- Find your /G-Force/Sprites/(Auto Backgrounds) folder
- Place your JPG files in the folder and if you want only your jpg files to show, then delete the other files & folders that are there
- Either re-start G-Force or press "Shift U" to re-scan the folders
- Press "Shift Y" to launch a sprite (if your jpg files are not showing try saving them out as a BMP file in any graphics editor - it's possible that your jpg file format may have problems)
- If you want to control the frequency or duration of the sprites, you can modify the G-Force Preferences file ("SInt" = interval time in seconds and "SDur" = duration time in seconds) See the Customizing section of the G-Force Documentation for more details
If you have further questions, please feel free to email support (please see soundspectrum.com for contact details).

Hi!
I am a big time Sprite fan, having almost 2,500 of them now, all in JPG format, generated from Windows Paint, FotoFinish, and Photoshop CS, plus a few downloaded JPEGs that I have no idea what was used to generate them, and I have had absolutely problems with 'bad JPG formats'. Everything seems to play without any problems. Normally, from what I have seen, if G-Force does have a problem with any kind of input format, it upchucks an error message to let you know what it didn't like.
I have had an occasional image in BMP file that I wanted to use as a background, but I have always converted it to JPG to save space, and have never had a problem.
You noted hitting Shift-P to start Sprites. I have had to do that only after reinstalling G-Force, not on a regular basis. If you do it, make sure you get a "Sprites ON" message when you do so, not "Sprites OFF". Key's comment about hitting Shift-Y to display a random Sprite is also a good one, but if you are worried about a specific image, you can also use a script to play back that specific sprite; see CTRL 5.txt in the Scripts directory for an example.
I have run slideshows several times without any problem. If all else fails, you might spend five minutes reinstalling G-Force. I have cured several mystery-problems that way.
Also, as a general comment... something that I have done to prevent new versions of G-F from overwriting my stuff has been to put all of my Sprites in a Sprites\(Auto Backgrounds)\Toby_Backgrounds directory to prevent accidental erasures when a new version of G-F is installed. Also, Andy has been known, on occasion, to blow away the entire directory tree when installing a major upgrade, so keep a backup copy of everything you've got in a completely different safe area. The same applies to anything "special" that you add to G-Force... configs, sprites, scripts, whatever!
Good Luck, and take care.
