Making a jpg or bmp fit the screen

Post by barnarjo »

I have just downloaded G-Force platinum for standalone use and am trying to make a bmp file of some text (similar to the G-force logo in the sprites folder) appear in the screenshow. I can get the bmp on the screen but it's too big and spills off the edge. However small I make the image size in photoshop, there is no change even though I update the file each time (shift+u). :? Any ideas anyone?

Making a jpg or bmp fit the screen

Hi,

If you look in the Sprites folder you should see a text file called (Default).txt. In this file are detailed a number of flags that specify how an image file is displayed.
As I understand it, if you place an image file directly into the Sprites folder it will automatically be stretched or shrunk to fit the screen. If you wish to stop this for specific image, you need to create a text file with the same name as your image (ie image1.jpg needs a file image1.txt) and specify the correct flag to control how the image is displayed.
In your case specifying "flag=4" or "flag=5" should do the trick.
I think.... give it a try and see how you get on.
Hope this helps
