Can the screensaver run with audio?
Hello, I just purchased G-Force to use for an MP3 Jukebox I just builtand was wondering if it was possible to have an option for the screensaver to basically be the standalone, yet run like a screen saver. I purchased the Platinum package and the screensaver doesn't appear to sync with what is being played like the standalone does. Is there a way to activate this option??

The screensaver default settings do not respond to sound because many of our users have the screensaver running when there is no sound source. The screensaver uses one of our "sound generator" modes and this setting provides a synthetic sound source for G-Force. However, you can modify this setting by changing your screensaver preferences file. Here's how:
(1) Start G-Force Standalone and press SHIFT A until you have selected the desired sound source. The default source should be your audio out (sometimes called "stereo mix") source, but every computer has their own list of installed audio/sound devices.
(2) Now open the G-Force preference files for both the Standalone and Screensaver (on a PC, this file is located in C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER_NAME\G-Force and on a Mac you can use your Finder to search for folders entitled "G-Force" - the G-Force preference files should be in your User | Library | Preferences folder)
(3) Now copy the settings for the variable [A_in] from your Standalone to your Screensaver preferences file (this should configure the screensaver to respond to the same sound source settings as the standalone)

I use G-Force with J RIver Media Center. The "volatility" in the screensaver after useing this edit seems tied to the volumn level. In Media Center the visualizations seem based on the music's actual levels and respond as expected even when the sound is muted. Is there a way to get the screensaver to play the same way?
Screen Saver Audio
Hi,
I followed the instructions to change the screen saver prefs - but, no luck.
When i scroll through the audio options in the standalone (shift A ) the only audio sources listed are the presets (chill etc ) my line-in, or my USB input; my sound card or system audio is not there?
Mac PB G4 1.33 GHz.
Thanks.

When G-Force is operating as a "plug-in" to your media player, it receives the audio information regardless of your volume levels... however, when you are using the Screen Saver, G-Force is effectively listening to your audio-out channel and your volume levels consequently affect the responsiveness. You can adjust this with keyboard controls +/ - or wiht [ ] (please press "H" for a full list of keystroke commands).joshhuggins wrote:I use G-Force with J RIver Media Center. Re: Screen Saver Audio
Unfortunately the Mac OS does not allow G-Force to access the audio driver information -- however, if you have an iSight or any other microphone device, you will find that this method works very well.tourdog wrote:Hi, I followed the instructions to change the screen saver prefs - but, no luck. Further to last post,
G-Force standalone seems to recognise my iMic usb input; but does not respond to the audio coming through it?
It only responds to the Line-in or built in microphone, is this right.
thanks.

It probably is responding but my guess the level is very very low (mic level?)tourdog wrote:Further to last post,
