Deep breath taken...

I have been building my own computers for 15 years now, have 20 years experience in electronics and have a clear understanding of software design. This means I also have a clear understanding on how to troubleshoot issues.

Sorry bud...but that's not proper troubleshooting technique. Your simply guessing!

This 2 year old system has no issues. I can pull logs from win7Pro to prove it!
I only build solid systems, gigabyte mobo, crucial ram, amd cpu, nvidia xfx video, win7Pro...this system has a hiccup and I'm on it like white on rice!
My business is in 3D/2D graphics. Please...you say something wrong with my pc...on a guess...I get better tech support from my DSL...and believe me, that's not saying much...I'm with windstream.

You do no good service to soundspectrum by responding to customers the way you do juxtiphi...surprised the SS management allows it.

@ soundspectrum...why have you not explicitly stated what the exact issue is? We only know that it's a win 7 issue.
Ok, what's causing this problem...memory leak, win7 seeing that, might think somethings amiss, causing a lock out, or might be something having to do with the SP1 update?
Let us in on the secret SS! It might prevent these types of derailed discussions and lead to a workaround from a common user out there.

@ BTT, I thank you for your patience...your "Don't talk too soon!!!" reply kind of makes me think you may have a clue on what the issue is?
If your reluctance to say anything is because you were asked not by SS, no problem, don't want to get you in to trouble.

Hello trc2932

'Don't talk too soon' was a reference to this thread (page 2)

http://www.soundspectrum-forums.com/vie ... c&start=15

Have known Andy (SoundSpectrum) since 2000, I am a G-Force man through and through, and many ColorMaps I have created are included in both G-Force and Aeon. As your probably aware I am also the Administrator of the forum. Yes, I am loyal to SoundSpectrum, but I have never had any pressure to 'toe the line'.

Just take a look here:-

I'm a VOLUNTEER here and thats it, I really dont appreciate it when people who have a problem with SS start unleashing on the forum as though we are the ones responsible for solving all issues. we do our best but we are not Soundspectrum.

I have responded to so many people who Thought there was a problem with G-force when it became obvious that it was changes they made to their system or mac os or version of itunes being updated or changes made by the makers of certain other players which cause G-force not to work the way they expected.

apples bonjour program gave people headaches and they all though it was G-force. evey time mac updates their stuff people come here with G-force dont work.

Also had to deal with people who could not configure their video card correctly to allow 2 separate screens and it was G-force wont do this.

If there is an issue I believe its with the way windows is being updated not a problem wit G-force specifically. icbw but thats my opinion.

I know you dont like this kind of logic but there are 4000 registered users in this forum, most of whom came here with a question in the first place but you, and so many others who saw this behaviour which you feel is "suspicious" . I believe that if this was a common occurrence many more people would be posting about it.

You really shouldn't be suprised at the tone of my posts after the way you worded your own posts.

Thanks BTT for that first post link...very informative and ironically funny. Explains other reply.
In regards to the second link...I fully understand...I did not mean to imply that you were keeping "toe in line", but thought you might be under a NDA agreement with SS not to discuss these issues in public. I was a beta tester for a 3D company for sometime, and under NDA, I couldn't discuss bug issues in public forums.

Looks like you and JayPro have a tough time ahead, good luck. You both explained your positions clearly and fairly. Hope SS hears what you've said.

I did receive a email monday stating that my license is up on july 22 and that I need to pay for a renewed license. But still no person from SS contacting me and discussing this lock out issue...oh well.

At this point, I'm just going to deal with this problem...after all, it's just a simple shut down and restart of the pc.

Thanks again for your time, patience, and effort BTT.

WoW! all that whining you did about how Soundspectrum ripped you off, and I'm suspicious crap and customer beware sh!$ over what you now describe as a simple restart.

So, let me get this straight, Soundspectrum hasnt ripped you off and G-force is not designed to fail 3 months before license renewal in order to get your money? is that it? should I tell people to beware!

C'mon man!

So you want a possible reason as to why Soundspectrum hasnt responded to this problem?, it could be that they tht cannot recreate this behaviour on their end. they are probably looking into it because they want you to be happy and make sure there isnt a real problem with G-force but until they come here and make a post saying with out a doubt that this is a real issue I will continue to believe as I have from the start that its a problem on your end.

Anyone can make a mistake and that includes the both of us

Hey everyone,

First off, many thanks to all the moderators for doing their best to keep the peace in the face of less than impressive responsiveness here at SoundSpectrum.

The short version is that we're working hard on the engineering side to get things out the door, and we're working on making improvements on the support side. On behalf of SoundSpectrum I offer my humblest apologies for any lack of support responses we owe people. This is not our norm, nor is it acceptable. I confess that I often hide from my inbox daily so that I can concentrate on getting out releases out the door and our R&D project codenamed 'replicant' in the works. I've been dealing with a couple major personal problems, which hasn't helped any of us, so please give us a couple more weeks to get G-Force and WhiteCap out the door and hopefully everyone will enjoy all the work we've been putting in over here. Look for Aeon 2.5 in a week.

Sincerely,
Andy O'Meara
CTO, SoundSpectrum

I noticed that if I close Winamp with Geforce,WhiteCap or AEON still running the problem does not occur. This only happens if you close the visualizer before closing the application.

I noticed this a week ago but didn't want to say thing till I was sure. So far I only tested in Winamp cause It's my main player.

Anyway to Andy or whoever is working on the problem might find that tid bit of info useful. And for anyone having this problem just close the player while the visualizer is running and that should solve it for you.

Might have just been a old habit of mine to close the vis before closing winamp so that it wouldn't startup next time I run it. Anyway problem solved if you handle it in this manner.
