ok does GF work fullscreen without letterbox in other media players?

What about the standalone version?

In standalone version what resulations work in fullscreen not letterboxed.

What resolution are you running it in wmp?

Do all resolutions that are not meet to be letterboxed (e.g. 640x400 and 640x480 one is letterboxed the other is not) appear letterboxed?

I don't use wmp but I presume the 'M' still changes the resolution.

Does it appear to save the res setting 320x240 will look different to 1280x1024?

Try every res and post picture here of every one so we can see what you are talking about.
All,

The short answer is that WMP has poor/no support for allowing vis plugins do certain things (ex, change FS resolution, enter fullscreen mode, consistent keyboard support). I've gone around and around the head WMP guy at microsoft, but they are insistent that if they let plugins have all this "power" that they'd abuse it and destroy the user experience. I rebut that if plugins make the user expereince by absusing this then the users will simply stop using that plugin, but MS wants to go their own way. If you feel strongly about this, I can only encourage you to send an email to the WMP team asking that plugins gain the ability to: change fullscreen mode resolution, enter/exit fullscreen mode, and get all keystrokes. You options are to deal with these issues (unfortunately) or use another media player.

Hi

I have the same "letter box" problem in WinAMP 5 with GF2.72 Pro under WinXP.
The standalone-version works as expected (no letter box), but not the WinAMP-version.

regards
