G-force questions

Post by Stephen_S »

1) Ever since I installed Kerio Personal Firewall, I notice that G-Force doesn't seem to check for updates (or is being blocked). Is there any "site" that I can tell KPF to allow so G-Force will check for updates?

2) Is there somewhere in the toolbar that I can see what version/release I'm running?

Thanks.

1.I just got Kerio yesterday, since Comodo was causing problems, I think.

When I installed Kerio, I used "advanced mode".

But I do not know how it checks for updates, so I cannot test it. There is not way to do it manually, at least what I can find. Also, G-Force is not updated very often, except for the beta version, and you will get an email notification of that.

2. I don't know anyway to get the version number, except at the G-Force Splash screen. And that's when you start the program.

Andy or someone else with more knowledge of this program may enlighten us both. 8)

P.S. I used Shift+C to toggle automatic updates, and it says it checks every 7 days.

If the updates check is turned on in G-Force, it connects (once a week) to soundspectrum-updates.com to check if a new version has been released. soundspectrum-updates.com is just a domain name SoundSpectrum uses specifically for this purpose.

Ok, thanks, gorus. I added that to my firewall exception list.
