Problem with long darkroom movies

Post by jamieg »

I am trying to create a darkroom movie (using GForce Engine), the audio file is about 70 mins long.

It takes AGES to do a song of this length, roughly 16 hours on my system Apple PowerBook G4, so I tend to leave it over night. The thing is it always results in a movie that cannot be played in QT or VLC (I haven't tried anything else).

It seems to work fine with smaller song files (using the same settings I use for the large file).

Has anyone else had this problem with larger files?? Is there a setting I need to change??

Thanks, Jamie

I'e never tried a movie this long, so I can't offer any advice on why it's not working. But a work-around might be to crete smaller films and join them together. It would mean also creating segmants of the music—say cutting 10 seven minute pieces of the song, and adjusting your scripts timeline to match these fragments.

Also, try to use the "Link To Audio Source" option to see if that works--that will exclude the audio from the movie, and make the movie a lot smaller in size.
