I've been looking desperately for a program that can convert a real time digital audio signal into real time graphical output (similar to the trippy visualizations in windows media player/winamp but REAL TIME)
eg. I plug my guitar into my laptop through an analog to digital input and play something. The result is an immediate visualization on screen of the signal. Someone suggested opening winamp and using the 'linein://' parameter, but it's not really as effective as i'd hoped.
Can I use Soundspectrum/Gforce for what i'm trying to acheive?
I'm sorry if this sounds confusing, but I can't really explain it that well.
Suggestions? Comments?

try this, start winamp select line in then after you start GF use the + key to increase the response scale or the minus key to decrease.
also you might wanna try setting winamps buffer to a specifc size, why ?because to much buffer or to little buffer can effect what you see or dont see on the screen.
go into winamps options and hit prefrences go to output select the direct output option hit the buffer tab and balance all 3 sliders to 1000ms.
for my computer this is the best setting and what I see on the screen is directly related to what I am hearing.
you can tell if you have a buffer problem because Gf wont look like its moving with the music. I use a song with some solitary drum notes at the beginning to calibrate my buffer. when GF moves with each note I now I'm done.
both options could be a fix for you.
