Sprites and images

Post by Jamtastic3 »

I have a problem with sprites at the moment - I can't seem to get any jpegs to work that I have added and also I have deleted the previous images that came with GF (I use gold) and after pressing shift+U or restarting my windows media player, the images still reappear even though they are deleted. How do I solve these problems?
Thanks

If you deleted the standard sprites did you also delete the sub-folder, Astronomy?

Did you add your jpgs to the G-Force\Sprites folder?

Yes, I have deleted all original images in the sprites folder including the Astronomy sub folder and still the images appear. It's strange though because one jpeg (called File0026) I put into a script just to open that image from CTRL 9 but whenever I try to press CTRL+9 I get a completely different thing happen such as particles and flowfields activating. I've restarted my comp loads of times and nothing seems to have change.
Also I changed the font size for tracks but that doesn't seem to have done anything either.
Do I need to change anything in the boot.exe or setup files?

Sounds almost like you have two G-Force folders. In the old days G-Force installed under the WinAmp folder. Nowadays it installs under a SoundSpectrum folder under Program Files (on a PC).

Could you have renamed the folder before you installed a newer version of G-Force? That's what I do so I can rename and go back to older versions to check things out.

Otherwise, I'm at a loss to explain what might be going on. Try doing a search on your hard drive for "CTRL 9.txt" to see if more than one shows up.

Thanks chkman, spot on!!!
I looked up ctrl 9 in my search engine... found 2 txts in with different instructions. So went into my WMP folder and under visulisations, there was the folder GF (didn't even know it was in here). So my comp had been playing this version of GF whereas I had been changing images and sprites of another copy of GF in its subfolder under the Sound Spectrum folder. Now I've deleted that one so I've only got the one application on my computer and my images are appearing!
Thanks again!

You're welcome.

But it sounds like you might have deleted the newer version of G-Force and kept the older version. But if you want to use foreground sprites that might be a good idea (there's a couple other topics discussing the lost auto-foreground folder).
