New Purchase...many problems

Post by trc09 »

Hello,
I just bought gforce...order # VKNA2CCF7A82, today.

Issue 1...toolbar automatic shuffling on waveshap...colorfield and wavemap will not stay on(green)when geforce is closed and reopened.

Issue 2...In the Particles Images and Video panels...all missing...blank

Issue 3...In Waveshape Colormaps and Flowfields panels...all missing....blank.

Issue 4...In Visualization panel...all settings grayed out...cant set anything.

System:
Windows 7Pro sp1 32bit
AMD Phenom II X2 550 3.10GHz
4 GB ram
Realtek HD Audio

Norton firewall is set to "ALLOW" geforce to access the internet

I had geforce3.57 installed...uninstalled before installing 4.20.
3.57 had exactly the same issues.

If this can not be fixed...I want my money back please.
Please help

One more issue, I can not get the standalone version to hear sound from WMP or my sound hardware.

Because of issue 4, I can't set it!!

What is soundspectrums refund policy? Cant find anywhere on this site.

lets approach this a little differently...
First, if you want a refund you need to start by contacting Support->Contact Us ... but this is a SMALL company and it may take a couple of days for them to get back to you...

Now if you want to try to get things working... Lets start over and un-install 4.2 and REBOOT. If you have any rouge copies of GF or the Toolbar running, it can cause problems. You need to be connected to the internet only to install, so I would just shutdown the firewall software until you get things installed.

If that goes okay, re-startup the firewall. Start the standalone version and right click the window and set to one of the internal sound generation sources... do things kind of work???

Pressing 'h' will display a help menu. First try to control GF without the use of the toolbar ... things working?

If so, right click again and bring up the toolbar. If the toolbar is communicating with the Standalone version, the dropdown boxes should have data that is selectable. Lets not get too far ahead of ourselves. Report back the status of each step.

Hello trc09

Purely as a matter of interest how did you overcome the problems with version 3.57?
3.57 had exactly the same issues.

Hello All,

I'm in the middle of reinstalling...a few more minuets.

As for the issues in 3.57...I emailed support about a year ago about the issues, and was told to upgrade to the newest version...as I did today.
Exact same problems.

I'll be back in a moment...had to uninstall Modo501, that uses Bonjour, as there are issues with that apple app. Cleaned out the registry...defragging and running scandisk. Clean out leftover gforce folders then I'll reinstall geforce. Be back in a moment.

Hi all,

First of all, thanks to all who offered help.

Searched the forum...found out about the bonjour issue, and figured that was it. Bonjour must still be an issue while running gforce. This really needs to be looked at. Why is it stopping tcp communication?
Anyways, everything seems to be working now with bonjour uninstalled.

Just one more question...when I use gforce as a wmp plugin and click Visualizations>Gforce...how do I get the Toolbar to pop up automatically?
Works fine when I use as a standalone.

Thanks again guys for the help...

On the bottom edge of the toolbar, if you don't see about 5 option setup selections right underneath the flowfield control, click on the 'windowshade' to open in up. One is for toolbar preferences.

Yes...the box is checked to "start" automatically..."close" also, but does not work in wmp plugin mode...only in standalone mode. Win7 bug?

Oh well, at least I got most of the functions back working again.
