How do you send your configs? I want to send some configs that I've created to see if they are good enough to be accepted.

Meanwhile, here are some screenshots...

On the top of the homepage you'll see the Support link. Click that and then go to the very bottom left of the page where you'll see a Contact Us link.

After going there, you'll be prompted to follow the steps necessary to make your request.

Unfortunately, since Andy and Co.'s been so busy lately with Windows Fixes, new software development and such, there won't be much time for your configs to be reviewed.

However..............;)

Since I plan on posting lotsa submissions myself, would you perhaps be OK with e_mailing your work to me and I'll include them with my add-ons?
I assure you that your submissions will be credited to you.

Nice stuff ! not too sure where to send the figs but I guess you could post them at a file hosting service and put the link here until you find out where they belong.

Jux;

It might be a better idea to go the route I suggested above, only for the reason that it was Andy who suggested (to me anyway) that this site be the main venue by which to submit configs.

It would be better for a config artist to at least make some kind of submission arrangement here at the "MotherShip" than to have them and other sundry config grabbers scour the web for places to DL them.

I've said this many times; and each following time has me run the risk of garnering a rep for being a pain in the ass; but here goes:

While Andy and partners are busy with the work they think needs doing more than anything else, some of us can keep the currently-discussed aspect of G-Force development going. The question is how. And as long as we keep the bosses aware of exactly how, I think we'll be okay.

If Andy could give me permission to spread the news of G-Force on my Facebook page with screenshots and the like (which he did; and Thank You BTW), I don't see why he wouldn't be amenable to having one or more of us handle the config submissions end of things.

I'm not saying the current system of config submissions needs a complete overhaul. Keep it centralized here at SS.com, yes. But let's expedite the process by which new configs actually get here. I would suggest this:

1. Delegate authority in this regard to at least one G-Force board contributor: i.e. one (or more) moderator(s) with basic config-programming knowledge and one (or more) board member(s) with said experience.

2. Let their responsibilities be twofold:

A) winnow through the users contributions (i.e. check for syntax/code issues and actually see them work in G-Force) and

B) add to that user's config submissions an extra ReadMe file (attn: Andy/Key/Anton/Gary) that makes two lists:
one that suggests which effects to actually bundle in the release version and
one that requests that the remainder be included as a download zip on the Contributor's page.

BTW, such judgments should IMO be in keeping with Andy's vision, as it is the benchmark of each release version we see. IOW, let what you see in a newly downloaded, untouched GF update be the standard used to judge your list-making.

Another suggestion I wish to make is to have a trusted third party obtain actual "backdoor" access to the Contributors page, i.e. allow them to actually upload user files after the "look-throughs" I mentioned above are complete. This also should serve to Keep Andy and Co. focused on top-shelf priorities.

My long-windedness here is in response to an IMO unintended lack of new configs to G-Force over the past several release versions. While I truly applaud the additions that have been made, this to me is a far cry from the days when a fair amount of configs would be included with each release version.

Overall product diversification and development thereof can be cited for this; and for good reason. However, I fear that user contributions to SS.com's signature application, if not solely for the aforementioned reason, have assumed a back-seat role.

The suggestions above are IMHO some ways to deal with the issue as I see it. FWIW.[/i]

Thanks a lot for taking the time to create these!

There are two different routes. If you would like the configs to be considered for inclusion within G-Force, you can zip them up and send them to Andy directly. When he has the time, he will review them for performance and aesthetic reasons and get back to you.

The other option is to submit the zip to be posted on the G-Force Contributors page (like JayPro is doing) so that others can download it separately from G-Force. Sometimes Andy will suggest this route if none of the configs make it into G-Force using the first method.
