A Few Notes & Two Wave/Sprite ?'s

Post by JayPro »

First, my apologies are due for the hang-up in following through on my thread discussing sprite responsiveness.
After much experimentation I have decided that there are three options that IMO will work best.
1. Simply add fft(s) to FADER in the EPen line: i.e. fft(s) + ......
2. Apply the Pen formula for Parkening Power, again using + before FADER as illustrated above
3. Follow the same guideline using Uberbach DoubleView (sp?).

That said, let me now turn to a pair of short questions I have regarding wave shapes/particles.

1. Is there/can there be any way to make Particles gradually fade in and out like Sprites? I do understand that there is a formula for Sprites (EPen=FADER*dt^1.5) that makes the sprite disappear slowly (see the (Default) doc in the Sprites folder for details). I doubt the existence of any Pref file parameter that I can edit along these lines; so would it be possible in future to make this an option?

2. With that in mind, I should like to know if such a kind of transition for WaveShapes is possible. On the one hand, I find wave transitions way too sloppy most of the time (IMO); OTOH disabling the transit prefs just yields an unimpressive switch from one wave to the next. A smooth fade in-out transition would increase viewing pleasure manifold.
