CRAZY idea

Post by markofkane »

How about a means to switch Viz's automatically?? From Whitecap, to Softskies, to G-force??

And get rid of the splash screen for each when in "autoswitching mode"

Possible?? Even keyboard shortcuts to go from one to another??

Or even combine the graphics of all three??

Just a thought.

If this is at all possible---perhaps because all three now share the same Vector C compiler/engine "guts"---it's a helluva long way down the road. But, I'd presume to agree with you in considering this worth the wait.
With respect to combining the graphics of each one? Again, if this is feasible in the distant future, it depends on what aspects of each visualizer you'd wish to combine. That said, I'd also guess you'd have a lot of different posters with their own ideas.
Anyway you slice it, if--as I said--combining and/or switching elements of all three present visualizers can be done, the perhaps applying keystroke commands to switch from one to the other might be the easier of the two tasks.

Don't forget, tho, Andy N' Friends have suggested future products (my emphasis); so mebbe it'd be a good thing to just wait and see what's in store down the road within the speed limits of practicality...'Mkay so I suck at metaphors... ;)

Then again, one can dream...no? sqr( ;) )

Right on!! Could you imagine the Backgrounds in Softskies (the buildings, etc) having the vector graphics of White Cap, while having the flowfields and waveshapes of G-Force?? Of Course, there should be a way of making all layers set at a user-set transparency, so all blends together just right.

I love the new Whitecap. I think, if there are people who can make more scripts for it, the possibilities are endless. Softskies is good, but a suggestion is to add Lightning and rain . I like to switch to other viz's for variety. 8)

I had the same kind of ideas, I think GF could benefit from the having some of the same kind of wav shapes that we see in WC. I think it would give GF even more depth.

I also like the way the Backgrounds work in WC maybe something like that would be good for GF. :D

I've Got It!

DateLine c. 2010: SoundSpectrum's Newest Innovation: LoveChild.

****Features: Capabilty to seamlessly integrate and combine configuration files previously found either in WhiteCap or G-Force.

****Components:
FlowFields: G-Force-based backgrounds to enhance the visualizer experience.

ColorSchemes: Includes HSV/RGB/.map files plus WhiteCap v5>-specific palette formulae.

WaveShapes: Includes those such as as found in G-Force, plus vector-based as found in WhiteCap. Also uses Python programming language-based background "particles" (.py files) such as found in WhiteCap v.5>. see below

Sprites (Two Kinds):

a. PicSprites: various picture files that can be integrated into the visualization in a number of ways never before applied, i.e. user-controlled PicSprite-to-FlowField meshing gradients, size change to musical input, camera-zooming capabilities, brightness-to-beat detection and more (e.g. think Arkaos visualizer on steroids).

b. WallSprites: Python-composed files (.py) found in versions of WhiteCap 5 and beyond.

Unions: Can be applied to FlowFields, ColorSchemes and, experimentally, a limited number of WhiteCap-specific WaveShapes.

****Capabilities: Can switch from WhiteCap to G-Force or any user-controlled combination using a broad, yet intuitive array of options to control the overall experience.
