Tool bar won't accept input
Tool bar won't accept input
I just purchased and installed G-Force platinum, but the G-Force tool bar will not accept any input, either via the sliders or the key board. Followed the instruction in the FAQ to set the firewall (msn/microsoft Windows Live Onecare) to make an exception for G-Force, but it made no difference. Any help.

Re: Tool bar won't accept input
something is keeping GF toolbar from conncecting to the GF vis, they are 2 seperate entities that work together.stebmarc wrote:I just purchased and installed G-Force platinum, but the G-Force tool bar will not accept any input, either via the sliders or the key board. if you have Itunes installed on your machine a program called Bonjour service was also installed. This program is supposed to facilitate the connection between programs running at the same time but instead it actually hurts a lot of progs in the process.
see if this service is running to do so, hit the run command and type msconfig from there hit the services tab and look for Bonjour if its there shut it down reboot and try again.
Thank you for your answer. It is only in iTunes that I have the problem; in windows media player I can use the toolbar. But I could not find Bonjour on my computer. I also can't find G-Force in Yahoo Music Jukebox by following the directions at the technical support page. If I click on visualization, the only option or to view them or not, no choice of which one, no G-Force. ITunes is what I usually use, so it's disappointing.

I would say that itunes is the culprit here ( bicbw )stebmarc wrote:Thank you for your answer. It is only in iTunes that I have the problem; in windows media player I can use the toolbar. the bonjour service has been incorporated with itunes for a long time but it was originally named Rendezvous. It became bonjour with the release of itunes 5 and thats when it all went bad. it can be seen running in task manager as mDNSResponder.exe try shutting it down manually
itunes and GF have had a love hate relationship since the beginning. personally I hate itunes for a lot of reasons.
as for yahoo try reinstalling.
if that doesnt help , uninstall GF and delete all traces form your comp that includes the soundspectrum folder found in the application data folder in your documents. restart your comp and reinstall GF this has helped a lot of others resolve their issues.
also for another option try mediamonkey it has a similar interface to itunes but has no problems with GF
Reinstalling yahoo music jukebox and G-Force didn't seem to make any difference.
I did figure out how to make iTunes display the G-Force full screen, which was what I was trying to do, but still can't get the tool bar when I am in iTunes (I can in WMP). As soon as I right click as per the instructions, the visualizer disappears and I am back at the library screen.
I certainly have no love of iTunes; it locks up my (rather old and soon to be replaced) computer more than any other program I own. I was under the impression I had to have it to manage my iPods. Looking at Mediamonkey, which I have downloaded, this seems not to be the case.
I would love to have only one media player on my computer, or at least to use only one. Is that possible? What do you use and how many do you have?

I beta test so I have several players installed but I mostly use winamp because I like the simple interface and the wide range of skins.
the big reason I dont use itunes is that its far too intrusive. it intergrates with your whole system which is something I do not want and I hate the fact that itunes is nothing more than a store front for lossy music. dont be surprised when they start marketing lossless flac files so you can (cough cough) have your audio tracks in the best quality possible.
Oh and if you want to transfer all the files you bought to another computer you better do it soon as they will not be transferable to your new comp

I am trying medial monkey bc of the rave reviews, but having a problem. I 've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times, to fix it. What happens is that it goes and grabs all the audo files off of my external hard drive and stuff the names in the library. This happens even when I disconnect the external drive when I am installing the program, but the won't play. Simulaneously, it refuses to get the music from "my music library" on my C drive, the only folder in which I tell it to look.
Can anybody help with this?

click tools and then go to the bottom where it says options there you can set MM to look in library there you can set MM to look in the foldres you want it to for audio and (this is how I have it set) uncheck every single box so that media monkey cannot take control of your media unless you know which things you want it to control.stebmarc wrote:I am trying medial monkey bc of the rave reviews, but having a problem.
