Installation issue (MediaPortal)

Post by Amnesiac »

Hi,

just building a new HTPC... to replace my old one...

Installed fresh XP SP2 +all MS updates, fresh Media Portal 2.3.0... now fresh G-Force which is where problem hits...

G-Force installtion recognises Windows Media Player & Screen Saver but not Media Portal; the custom option doesn't allow selection of the MediaPortal checkbox either.

[Registered Platinum version of G-Force 3.60, 3.61, 3.71 & 3.75 all exhibit the same symptom]

Is there something changed in MediaPortal from 2.20 to 2.3.0 to stop G-Force recognising the application - as the HPTC I'm replacing had 3.60 and MP 2.2.0 installed together ok with upgrades over the top, and everything seemed to keep on working fine :-)

If I go ahead and install G-Force without the Media Portal option in the G-Force installation then when I choose "Visualisers" option in MediaPortal when I select G-Force (which has been added to the pull-down) then the MediaPortal configurator hangs. :-(

[G-Force seems to work fine apart from standalone fullscreen but then I have two monitors attached so that's a different problem :-) ]

Any suggestions as they aren't playing nice together at the moment!

A.

I can confirm everything posted above and the only difference is that I'm running Vista 32bit. I hope someone can figure this one out.
