WMP crashes immediately.
I can't seem to get gforce to run on my new machine. I'm running a fully updated version of XP and WMP11 on a AMD Opteron 185 Asus A8N32 SLIDeluxe MB with the Nvidia Nforce4 SLI x16 chipset and 2 Nvidia GeForce 8500GT video cards in SLI. I have 2 gig of ram and have updated the bios and drivers to the newest ones I can find.
WMP will play music and windows visuals normally; and will still play music as long as I don't try to use GForce as my visualization (works ok as long as I don't click on "now playing" with GForce selected). I immediately get a crash window for WMP (the music continues to play but WMP won't respond to any inputs) and WMP shuts down. I've tried everything on your website to no avail and have installed, deleted and reinstalled Gforce 3 or 4 times. When I search for G-Force_wmp.dll I can't find it anywhere on my machine.
I really like this program but I won't buy it if I can't get the demo to run.
P.S. It ran fine on my old ASUS/AMD machine.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I have the same problem
I had no problem with the demo, so I spent 20 bucks on the thing and then I got that problem, (not immediately, but after 2 months). I have re-installed G-Force and MP11 plus run all virus and syware programs with no luck. Can anyone help?

Don't waste your money on this junk...
They say there is a beta patch that fixes the problem, but when you click on the link it says you can only get it if you are a "Platinum" member. What a scam!!
Got the solution
Finally figured it out on my own. Tried a "bug report, but these guys are no help.
Open media player, click on the arrow under "now playing", Select :plug-ins", in left menu select "visualizations", In right menu select "g-force".
That solved my problem. Let me know if it works for you. Our systems are very similar!

I have had problems with GF in the past but for the most part GF has always run very well on my machines.
I dont regularly use WMP but it and GF is installed and working just fine so Its not just the program.
Re: Don't waste your money on this junk...
where is this patch you mentioned ? I didnt see anything like it at the download site and I am a beta tester.permanoob wrote:They say there is a beta patch that fixes the problem, but when you click on the link it says you can only get it if you are a "Platinum" member. What a scam!!
and GF is not as scam! just because it doesnt like the way your machine is set up doesnt mean someone is trying to rob you.
GF has been around for like 7 years and has gotten better every year, this forum has some 3000 members and I have been member for 2 years and you my friend are the only person who has ever called the program crap or even suggested it was a scam. sure others have had problems but with patients they were solved.
Hi vklvkl wrote:Hi Everyone,
Was a solution to this problem ever found? I have exactly the same issues and it's very frustrating coz I know how good this software can be. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
sorry to hear GF isnt working for you. if you have platinum you could try installing for another player like winamp and see what happens.
personaly I dont like Itunes or wmp cause sometimes they dont play nice with GF.
try this
if you have recently upgraded GF try uninstalling and then deleting the old prefs files found in docs and settings\application data\sounspectrum folder.
sometimes GF makes a mistake with the version number during an overwrite install in the prefs file and if the version number doesn't match GF will bug up
Hello juxtiphi,
Thanks for your swift reply, I have the Gold version so unfortunately can't try the other softwares you suggest. I will try your other suggestion though, re deletion of the old preference files, over the weekend and then post back on here next week with my findings. Have a nice weekend.

Same issue - WMP Crashes immediatly
Hi all... I am experienceing the same issue.
It appears I made the mistake of upgrading G-Force to the latest version 3.8.5 some time ago (and Yes, I tried 3.9 just a few days ago) and WMP 11 refuses to run with it loaded - crashes whenever i click over to the "now playing" tab. I had been running the older version just fine under WMP 11..... Can't recall the older version - who does?
Anyway, I wanted to purchase the new version after running it for a while but I can't seem to get it working....
Have tried many the suggestions on the forumsas well as others, all with no joy:
1) Rolled back WMP to 9
2) Deleted all WMP user info in \app data\media player
3) R&R'd G-Forcealong with folders (user too)
4) Removed all but windows basic video drivers (Running nvidia normally)
5) ran all updates
6) Was running a Mirage mirror driver - R&R'd it
7) etc.
I had used G-Force some years ago and absolutly love it but I really want to get it running on this machine... It's tied to my 52" so it looks amazing when it did work.... I am really bummed that I cannot get it running, especially after it did work... Anyway to get the old version? say 3.7.5 or earlier?
Any other ideas?
Thanks.

I think you'll just have to wait till it starts working again. My G-force has just stopped working again. I have no other software issues, just G-Force, Something needs to be done to make this program more stable. Its great when it works... I'm guessing that maybe keeping Windows up to date isnt compatible with G-force. I'm fresh out of ideas.
