3.7.2 Does Not Work With QCD----ATTN: andy55

Post by BCOOL »

Hi andy55, This was my first post on Feb. 25, 2007-----3.6 Freezes Up Quintessential Player------
When I try to use the EXTERNAL VISUAL on QCD, the player freezes up. I have the visual panel with visuals and I still have music but everything else on the player becomes unresponsive.
System Information:
Version of OS: XP PRO MEDIA CENTER EDITION VERSION 2002
Version of G-Force: 3.6
Version of media player: QCD 4.51a
Graphics hardware info: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200------To this on Mar. 17, 2007 you replied that you were in communication with QCD and would let me know what unfolds.------Since then I have not heard from you and there has been three new version releases, 3.6.2---3.7.1 and now 3.7.2 They all have the same problem as 3.6--- As it turns out WhiteCap BETA 5 does not work with QCD either (I have sent that information to you in my BETA TESTING REPORT).I thank you for your excellent products but I find it very disappointing that I can't use them in my favorite media player QCD.Andy, is there any hope that in the future your products will once again work with QCD? Thank-You For your time. BCOOL

Does G-Force 3.7.3b1 have this problem?

Thanks,
Andy

Hi andy55, Thank-you for your reply. I uninstalled 3.7.2 and installed 3.7.3b1 and it looked like it was working but when I clicked stop I got a QCD has a problem and needs to close message and a QCDplayer.exe-Application Error The Instruction at"0x040f667b""Referenced Memory at "0x0416aac0". could not be "read" pop-up. I tried again, this time QCD froze up the same way as with 3.7.2 frustrating Ya. #-o Anyway I hope this helps and we can get it to work again BCOOL 8)

The crash and freeze problems are happening within QCD so I unfortunately have no way to start troubleshooting.

I've emailed Paul and requested that he get back to me quickly. I told him that we're releasing the new version of G-Force in a couple days and I wanted to get a resolution on this problem.

Given that QCD hasn't been updated in 3 years, I'm tempted to terminate support for QCD altogether as much as I hate to say it. It's not fair to SoundSpectrum customers that we say we support a player that's no longer actively developed.

Hi andy55, And again I thank you for your time. Yes, I do see your problem. It seem Paul spends all his time on his new player QMP and has forgotten QCD.His QMP build 119 is still full of bugs to. It would be a shame to drop support for his product tho. his QCD is a great player. I plan to contact him through his forum and see if we can't get him to get on the ball. Anyway time will tell.
