How do you install G-force on Mac OSX?

Post by Jonh2o »

I am having a terrible time figureing this out. I attempted to follow the readme that came with the .zip.

"The G-Force package will copy the files located in the "Installation Files" folder to the appropriate locations on your computer."

Well, that didn't work. I am yet to find a program that can handle this file type.

"If desired, expert users can manually copy the installation files instead of running the installer."

Can anyone tell me how to do that? ^^

Hi Jonh2o

I'm not 100% sure it is the same for all variations of G-Force, but for Platinum, all you do is to go into the Installation Files Folder and then the Library Folder within that which is on the mounted disk.

Copy the contents of the Application Support folder into your
~/Library/Application Support/ folder

(if you are unfamiliar with it, the ~ sign stands for your home folder)

Copy the contents of the iTunes folder into your
~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins/ folder

If the 'iTunes Plug-ins' folder does not exist, create one, but make sure you name it exactly that.

Hope that helps & post how you get on. I've bookmarked this post so just say if you have a problem.

If you don't own a Mac, I'm confused that you downloaded G-Force for Mac OS. Did you mean to download the Windows version instead?

Did you want to want to donload the Mac version in hopes of passing it along to your friend? I'm kinda stumped, too.

I am really interested in trying out Darkroom, and because it is only for macintosh, I went over to a friends to try it out (Thank you BSK for help on installing). Before installing I knew Darkroom probably needs G-Force installed on the computer to run so I downloaded it in advance. I am yet to install it.

I now remember that the liscense restrictions disallow this, I will delete darkroom off of my friends computer.

My intenet was to make a couple videos for some songs and rid of it from his computer. My only reason doing this because my Windows machine cannot run Darkroom and this was my only alternative to checking the software out.

If this is a valid exception then I will continue. If not (hence "You may not transfer the Software in any manner"), then I will gladly discontue the thought.
