G-Force Gold Stopped Working (New Member)

Post by Wildrat »

Hello, I have looked around and tried the suggested fixes to no avail.
The screen saver works fine.
In WMP it's just a blank screen. The toolbar fields are empty. I am running 64bit Win 7.
Like I said it was working fine for awhile, then as of two days ago with nothing changed on the system it does not function. I tried uninstalling completely cleaning the system of any leftover bits and re-installed, Same problem!
Help is appreciated!
Oh other windows visualizations work fine.

Hello Wildrat
juxtiphi wrote:There are two issues with the toolbar

First , The Apple "Bonjour" can stop the toolbar in its tracks.
I don't think it has been fixed yet

Second, the 64 bit Toolbar is broken.
Since there was a number of people here who wanted to keep the old toolbar SS have included the toolbar in the new version but there are still bugs.

Hopefully they will resolve these issues soon.
jerohm wrote:I believe your situation is that on most systems, 32 bit versions play nice with the toolbar, and there are some issues with 64 bit versions. Standalone is shipped in BOTH 32 ans 64 bit flavors, defaulting to 64 bit (on 64 bit OSs anyway). You can (manually) link to the 32 bit version. WinAmp and WMP are still 32 bit plugins and should work. All should be clear and stated on the startup splash screen.
Hope the above helps in some way.

Second Quote, How do I link to the 32 version?
I don't think I have any apple crud on my Windows machine, but I will look to make sure, plus this just started a couple of days ago after 3-4 weeks of perfect operation.
Thanks for your assistance.

i did find a couple apple things on the computer. I removed all of it, including anything in the registry.
It did not help. I did reboot computer.
I suppose I will wait to see how to link to the 32 bit file.

Let me go see which version of wmp I am running. Like I said this only started a couple days ago. I have not changed anything. I will check to make sure though it is the 32 bit version that is running.

I tried opening wmp 32 but it does the same thing. I don't understand why it's been working fine and now it's not.

I contacted them already, I guess I will get a response today maybe. They have been good in the past about helping.
I am confused also!
Something that has been working suddenly stops working but now I find out it will work if I go thru media center which is a pain. I want to listen to my music not see a bunch of fluff. LOL

Hello Wildrat

Most G-Force users have Winamp as there media player. You could give that a try while waiting for SoundSpectrum to get back to you, who knows you might even stay with it.
