G-Force NEW Beta available

Post by BTT »

Hello All

4.4b1 - 10 September 2012
- Fixed BASS config var not receiving the proper audio level.
- Multi-display systems now run multiple [ProductName] instances properly.
- Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center overhaul, fixing various issues for both x86 and x64.
- [ProductName] now detects Windows Media Player overlays and offsets its UI elements accordingly.
- Fixed install/registry issues associated with J. River Media Center.
- Added 64-bit support for the Screen Saver and Standalone on Windows.
- No longer using CGDisplayCapture() on OS X to capture the full screen display device, allowing context menu support and improved interoperability with other apps.
- Improved support for RealPlayer 15.
- Major improvements to Winamp idle mode detection and frame rate control.
- Added workaround for OS 10.5 pkg install deficiency, fixing installation of multiple SoundSpectrum products.
- Stability enhancements to the V-Bar.
- For improved full screen mode compatibility, removed alternative full screen resolution modes.

TODO: Review config submissions from last couple months

Note: G-Force 4.4 is a maintenance release and will be followed by G-Force 5 in the following month.

Hmmm..... I don't have the toolbar issue though!
It seems to work fine for me in the three functioning instances i listed above.
(32bit and 64bit gforce standalone versions +nwhen run from the program menu during a minimized windows media center 64bit on win7 64bit

Hope the issues listed here can be fixed in a very urgent next beta....

So I looked for Bonjour on my system and as soon as I got rid of it the toolbar lit right up! As we all know G-force does not work well with Bonjour

Hello juxtiphi

Never mind Bonjour, G-Force will not run in Winamp because of the winamp\plugins\vis_g-force.dll being blocked. That is serious!!!. Sent Andy details Monday evening, awaiting reply.

64bit Standalone doesn't seem to work with toolbar (at all)... but 32bit does

Norton flags "winamp\plugins\vis_g-force.dll" with some cloud malware nonsense... (I ignored... possibly to MY detriment)

Getting out of Full Screen always requires "alt-shift-rtn" ... but sometimes requires some tender loving patience.

I didn't have the choice to ignore. Norton blocked the .dll and it was not installed into the Winamp Plugins folder, resulting in me not being able to run the beta.

Norton->Advanced->Computer Protection->Quarantined->restore&exclude
(at your OWN peril :roll: )

SetVerboseMode() & VerboseMode() Missing!

Post by jerohm »

SetVerboseMode() & VerboseMode() Missing!
- which breaks MY "CTRL V.txt" script, allowing Verbose Mode in WinAmp :cry:
Update FIX:
VerboseMode() -> ConsoleMode()
SetVerboseMode() -> SetConsoleMode()

Code: Select all

// 4.4 WinAmp (but should always work)

SetConsoleMode( ( ConsoleMode() + 1 ) % 4 );
if( ConsoleMode() == 0 )
{   stdout( "Console mode: OFF\n" );
}
if( ConsoleMode() == 1 )
{
    stdout( "Console mode: PARTIAL\n" );
}
if( ConsoleMode() == 2 )
{
    stdout( "Console mode: FULL\n" );
}
if( ConsoleMode() == 3 )
{
    stdout( "Console mode: DEBUG\n" );
}
ALSO... a problem that creeped into 4.3 (4.2 was FINE):
In WinAmp, LowerCase('L') command WORKS, but is ALSO passed to WinAmp which opens an "Open Files" (slows GF while opening) dialog box.

Hello All

Regarding Norton blocking the winamp\plugins\vis_g-force.dll have just received a reply from Andy:-

It was a false positive, so after some silly musical chairs with the source code it's been resolved.

Andy

ALSO G-Force 4.4b2 is now available.
