lcd monitor

Post by tabicasa »

Is it true that putting your speakers beside an LCD monitor can harm the monitor? I had heard a while ago that putting speakers beside an LCD monitor can harm the monitor over an extended period. Is it true?

If this can harm an LCD monitor in anyway....Then I sure should be worried, because my monitor has built in speakers.....Hang on!....So does my 50" Samsung LCD TV...WTF!! ...

Hi tabicasa. It depends on the speaker. If you are using large speakers with magnet then I'm sure it will harm your monitor over an extended period of time. Speaker with magnets have magnetic field and flux which disturbs the processes inside the monitor especially on areas where there are conductors that would conduct the the magnet.

Yes your right Charlie54 :) That's why "Magnetic Shielding" was built into LCD monitors/TV's ...AND...Mobile phones :)

Actually...

... it is the SPEAKER (driver) MAGNET that is modified (shielded, by gluing on a reverse polarity bucking magnet to the driver magnet; it helps negate any stray field strength that CAN affect cathode ray tubes CRTs). LCD/LED displays could care less. Although I Strongly Suspect, neither( ) of the newbies have any other motive than that of covertly promoting their agenda (i.e., links) with the help of search engines.

It probably make the most sense for this thread to disappear completely

Hello All

If Swiftyone (who to my knowledge is not a moderator) feels justified informing another forum member to stay on topic should that not also apply to him/her.
