i think i "oopsed"

Post by jimmyj »

i've been working to customize my show by adding movies and pictures into the "auto backgrounds" file and i think i may have screwed something up....'cuz when i turned on the visualizer in i tunes today, all i'm getting is a background color, no lines, no visuals....(oh yeah, apple g4, os 10.2.8), when i tell the program to start a new sprite, they all say "error loading (whatever sprite)"....did i accidentally remove a command?

secondly, since i've been adding pics and movies, frame rate is down from around 17 to 9-ish...is this because of the movies, pics etc being too large? i wanted to change the preferred frame rate as explained in faq, but have no idea where those files are located on my computer...

thirdly (thirdly???)-once i figure out firstly and secondly, how can i make it so the pics and movies i add to auto backgrounds show up more often....and is auto foreground more frequent than auto background???
i only catch an occasional glimpse of a pic or mpg right now, but don't know if i should remove flow fields, or what...to make these show up more often...

wow, quite a first post....oh yeah, i'm a platinum purchaser..any help offered would be much appreciated

first thing i would try is a clean install. make sure you save all your custom files first.

You could write a script to call up your sprites. You need a time sequence 00:00 and the command StartSprite( "Sprite Name",time);

00:00 StartSprite("Movie1",20);
00:20 StartSprite("Movie2",20);
00:40 etc....

I have a program that generates scripts for me. I use certain keys for wave scripts, flow scripts, sprite/particle scripts and of course COLOR scripts. Of course, all items are used in random order.

The guys at SoundSpectrum showed an interest so I explained it in detail but they never got back to me on it so I kinda lost interest. I've been working on configs since then but I'm wrappin' it up this week. I might work on the program some more, if there is any interest in it....

One thing to watch out for is the number of pics and movies that you put in the folders. I had about 1000 background JPGs and about 700 foregrounds. But the tool bar was crashing because of it so I have removed most of them.
