G-Force with pre-release software

Post by joshhuggins »

I am on the JRiver Media Center Beta team, and the biggest bummer about beta testing is that G-Force doesn't recognize the unreleased version. I tried copying over the v.3.8.5 (Build 1850)G-Force_JMC.dll, file from the JRMC v.12 viz folder to JRMC v.13, revising the registry entries to point to the new MC13 location, tried manually adding the plugin via the JRiver Media Center plugin manager, but no luck. Can anyone give me any leads on what would actually trigger Media Center to have it as an option? In the JRMC plugin manager it shows G-Force, but there is not info in the details, and it does not show up in the right click menu of the Playing Now area within the player.

Ahh this has been kinda addressed before,

with each new release of ( lately it seems to be a lot) the programmers do not keep GF in mind so if they update the way their player connects to visuals plugins may change and if andy has no fore knowledge of this there is nothing he can do except redo GF to work within the new parameters and that takes time.

so until the programmers use a uniform coding and dont make constant changes to the way their players react with third party plugins this is what you'll be dealing with as a beta tester and if it bugs you then just think about how miffed andy is every time he releases a candidate and finds out he needs to revise it already.
