Hello. I'm new and thinking about buying G-Force but....

Post by isamu »

Hi guys, I am thinking of buying GeForce but before I do I have a few questions:

1)I assume that in order to get G-Force to work with music being played via Foobar2000 (version 0.9), I am going to need to grab the standalone version....correct? It's too bad the authors of foobar decided to eliminate or make it difficult rather, to implement visualizations in that program, but I'll be damned if it's otherwise not a kickass music player.

2)Will the standalone version recognize the music and run properly if I am outputting my music through a laptop soundcard and via a DIGITAL S/PDIF Optical output to my receiver? Or does it have to be a standard analog line-out signal? I have a Creative Audigy 2ZS and it had has a s/pdif optical out jack that I'd prefer to use.

3)Does the stand alone version take up more processing power than the regular plug-in version? If so, how much more? My specs:

Pentium M 1.7Ghz
On board GPU
512MD ram
250GB Hard Drive
.....how well with the stand alone version run with these specs?

Hope you can answer these questions and thanks in advance :)
Please find a way to run G-Force with Foobar2000

1) yes your right as far as I remember, if I get a chance Monday I,ll try it out

2) No idea on this one.

3) As long as you dont go mad with res you should be ok with that spec. To be honest I always found the stand alone to be less cpu hungry. Also depends how many tasks you got running
I'll come to bed once i've seen everything in G-Force.
