It's long overdue for me to sign up here and say that Andy's G-Force and Whitecap are insanely great. I've been a fan for years and love hooking my powerbook up to a projector at parties and letting his swirly magic mellow everyone out.
My question today though is about potential advances either visualiser might experience because of changes in the graphics subsystems of Apple OS-X 10.4 "Tiger". I haven't had a chance to test 10.4 yet but I'm very keen to know if the kinds of changes mooted (such as in this part of the Ars Technica review of 10.4) will potentially cause a leap in frame rates because of a complete rejigging of the way work is shared between Quartz, the CPU and the GPU.
If G-Force or Whitecap are implemented in a way that don't draw on these kinds of routines, it would be interesting to know if future versions might?
Advances with Mac 10.4 Tiger?

A lot of Tiger's Core Graphics routines are dependant on your video card's speed and ram. For full support , especially for video, you need at least 256mb on a newer vintage Radeon Pro or NVidia card (there's a list somewhere on Apple's web site). Without these faster, more powerful video cards, the core graphics become dependant on your processor speed.
