There are two things that really stand out.
The first is how **much much much** better FF transitions are, at least on my machine. I could swear that it takes half the time as before for them, especially the more difficult ones, to happen.
The second is a nice new aspect waveshape-making called the NCap parameter. Essentially, this takes those ConB=1 (i.e. "connect-the-dotted") waveshapes that apply mostly (clip)-based Pen formulae and makes them look *tons* more attractive.
For instance, if you look at the basic Parkening Power wave, you may notice that the dots somehow look as if they don't really wanna mesh together, even though the user specifically calls for ConB to be set to 1.
As simply put as can be, setting this new NCap to a value of 1 finally made good ol' P.P. like the big, fat wedding of color and sound that it was truly meant to be.
Now I'm sure Andy meant to include this new feature in the Programming section of the Docs (and apologies in advance if he *did* and I missed it); but it's still rather comical to me how
A. it was kinda "snuck" in there rather quietly and with no great fanfare
and
B. how PO'd I was till I got the hang of what this thing was supposed to do.
I think it finally dawned on me as I was comparing modification dates for the "Boxed In" waveshape, i.e. the one I've been holding on to vs. the redacted one w/ added NCap found in the 2.8.1 package.
