How to get rid of "new version" notice?
I really hate the 'new version at soundspectrum.com' notice I keep getting, is there any way to get rid of it, OTHER than updating? Also (in windows media player) everytime I go to library, pick a new song to play, and go back to now playing, the "gforce platinum version etc. etc." message comes up, anyway to stop that from coming up, same as just "G-FORCE" coming up randomnly? All three of those combined get really annoying. I'd just like a clean visualization without those annoying messages or anything...So yeah, anyway of getting rid of them?
Sure, you can easily turn it off--it's a setting. See this thread:

I unchecked that already, still shows up because it already knows there are updates available. Plus those two other messages still keep coming up, and it doesn't seem to be a way to get rid of them. All three messages combined get really annoying. Maybe in future versions include a way to get rid of them? I'd like just visualizations.
At this point, it's easier if you just update G-Force once and leave the update feature disabled, and you won't get the message again. Otherwise, you have to uninstall, reinstall, do something tricky with your firewall, etc. As for WMP, this is the way WMP calls visualizers, unfortunately. Open a support ticket--I think there may be a workaround or two to deal with this.

Or it could be the older version works just fine.Wombat66 wrote:What is the problem with updating to the latest update? New configs, new waveshapes, better performance, etc., etc.. Why would anyone turn down an update? I think Malicious Delicious isn't telling us everything.markofkane wrote:Or it could be the older version works just fine.Wombat66 wrote:What is the problem with updating to the latest update? I run an older version because the newer ones don't have a feature I need, namely, pixel doubling. The newer versions are unusable IMO on my TV running at 1080x1920 as they are just too slow and unresponsive. And reducing the resolution isn't an option as I use G-Force on my MCE machine which is used mostly for HDTV video and want to send the panel its native resolution. With pixel doubling, it looks great and is fast.
do a complete uninstalation of GF delete all traces from your comp then restart, reinstall and this time dont give GF access to the internet and the nags should be gone.malicious delicious wrote:I unchecked that already, still shows up because it already knows there are updates available.
