Last week, I bought a new NVidia 7600 GS 512 mb video card; I couldn't wait to see how it worked with GeForce. I wasn't disappointed. But now I can't get GeForce to load automatically into Windows Media Player's "Now Playing" window. I put on some music, and the visualizations were all fuzzy and blurry. It turns out that it's using one of the internal visualizations. I highlight GeForce in the Visualizations window, but it doesn't change. I've called up the tool bar, but nothing happens. I may have screwed up the setting that launches GeForce automatically. I've got:
AMD Athlon x2 64 3800+ 2002 MHZ
Asus A8V mb
1 gig memory
Windows XP Pro SP 2
PNY GeForce 7600 GS 512 mb video
3 hard drives, all with plenty of space
Latest DirectX 9 update (February '07)
Anybody got any suggestions?
G Force won't load in Windows Media Player

just like my comp! I had to get a new computer due to hardware failures.
havent tried Gf yet because my key is stored on my old hard drive and i'm waiting for a ide controller card so I can connect my old drives to my new Mboard.
back to your problem.
try uninstalling GF completely ( dont just overwrite the old files ) clean out all the old refrences from the directories where they reside and then do a new installation.
hope this helps.
once I get my key ( should be tomorrow some time) I will see what happens in my windows player.

Yup, that did it. I was surprised at how much G-Force I had scattered around, what with product updates and such.
G-Force is supposed to be a resource-friendly program, but I find that, the more resources I have to throw at it, the more amazing it gets. Truly phenomenal.
I hope you get your machine up and chugging on time. Thanks for your help.
Off-Topic: I've been trying to get my new Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 up and running, but it's been a long expensive time-consuming nightmare, with nothing but frustration to show for it. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good video-editing program? Basically, I have MPEG videos I've downloaded and I want to snip parts out and put them together on a DVD. Easy Media Creator should be called Sleazy Media Destroyer.
