g-force and the music

Post by lotussy »

hi @ all,

i`m a newbee here and so i searched before i write ;-) please excuse my bad english (i`m german and do not write in english often).

my pc is an intel - 3.5 ghz - 1.5 gb ram and a lot of harddisc-space.
using g-force-3.0, i enjoyed first time and than (i`m also a dj-musician) there came wishes and don`t knows...so here are some:

1.) the most effect are not moving "on" the music ...ist there a way?

2.) physicly colours are frequences also the music: could it be that g-force
gives out the colours that the music played???

3.) maybe it`s boring but: i like to bring some grafic-g-force-sequenzes in
my videos...the progamm "fraps" is a little tool, and from all other visuals-tools it is no problem to give it out as an avi-file... why this dosn`t work
with g-force ? (and please do not tell me to buy a mac...) what is the prob, to give the grafic signal out as an video-file?

4.)i also use own pictures (jpg)...and when i take the feature "use external folder" g-force shows also old pictures like "moon" + "sun" etc...
after some minutes my own pictures are not longer shown... any ideas?

thank you for your help and hints

For now there is no way to use Soundspectrums Darkroom apllication in windows. its only available for the mac system.

...As far as using GF AVIs in a live setting I think you need a commercial licience to produce and use them in a live setting.

...For the other problems what version of G-Force are you using? maybe you should upgrade to the latest release in which many bugs were fixed.

...For the external folder prob, forget about it, just copy and paste your photos right into the sprites folder that way GF doesnt need to look to far to find sprites. ( make sure they are named correctly)

...If GF is not moving to the music you can increase the sensitiivity by using the sliders in the tool bar or you can do it manually by pressing the plus minus keys to increase or decrease how GF responds to the music.

...It could also be that or your audio buffer is to big and you are missing the sync between the music and GF or its not enough.
last option right click on the GF window while running and check to see if its set to the right output.

I hope this helps :)

GF + the music

Post by lotussy »

hi jux

thx 4 your reply.

1.) i want to use little avi-files in my privat art-videos, so there is no need 4 a pro-licence.

2.) i hope, that there are some ore one user, to explane me what the probleme is?!

3.) if darkroom is the way to get avi-files of GF, is there a date, when pc-user will also have the chance?

wich slider do i have to use for to change the sensivity (there are three)?

my GF (it ist version 3.0) is using the right output.

so, thanx again and best regards

Darkroom will probably be available for windows in the furture but I cant give you a definitive answer as too when. I think the size of the AVIs you want to use has to be very small.

there are 5 sliders on the toolbar

3 in one section and all they do is advance to the next flowfield wave shape or partical.

the 2 sliders on the right are for (top slider increases frame rate ) and bottom slider increases sensetivity to the music.

not the prog...

Post by lotussy »

hi jux,

thx 4 your reply and your correcting: yes there are 5 slider !

the only thing the "bottom"-slider effects is more "musik"-moving
to that what i call the thin lines...

if that is all what that prog can do 4 me...it is boring after 5 minutes.
sorry. i have to look to another one.

thank you for your help.

best regards

The only way to export video from G-Force is via the Darkroom application, which takes each output frame and creates a video frame by frame (I have no idea what 3rd party video-exporting apps do or how they work, sorry). It's coming out for Windows in the near furutre, but I don't know the exact date yet. You can e-mail customer support in case they have more info.

Perhaps this may help.

My current approach to get G-Force as video file is to use "Snapz Pro X" a screen video capture program. It will capture video playing on a computer screen and create a video file, much like capturing a still screen snap-shot.

So you would run your G-Force show and record it using a video capture program, save the capture and your have the video file.

Snapz Pro X saves the video as a .mov file, but you can easily convert it to any other format with an appropriate video conversion utility.

Sorry to say Snapz Pro X is for MAC, but perhaps there is a similar program that will work on PC. You might search for one.

Screen Capture

you can use an application called Snagit to capture GForce video as an AVI file, or whatever you want.
