Does selecting a theme change checked configs?

Post by willrob »

I've noticed that the Tool Bar settings I check for colormaps, waveshapes and flowfields become unchecked and no longer play. I wonder if selecting a theme, such as Mellow, would be responsible. is that basically what the themes are doing? Taking certain configs out of the cycle, eliminating frenzied effects for example when Mellow is selected? If not, what would cause the configs to be unchecked (I basically have everything selected in each category).

Yes, that's exactly what a theme does. When you check/uncheck ws/cm/ff, the current "state" can be saved as a theme. For more info, see the FAQ entry about the themes:

Am I correct then to aslo assume that the Tool Bar is only aware of themes that shipped with the same version of G-Force it shipped with? In other words, will it "uncheck" older ws, ff I've added or original color maps I've created? Would it know if they were "mellow" etc.?

if you want to add to the theme ,

open the theme you want then look in the list of configs for the ones you added, they will be unchecked, check them and then save the profile under a new name like willrobs mellow theme.

it will make a new list of all the checked configs and will now include yours.
