Is it just my 3 Month Old Daughter, or ......

Post by gatito »

Do all baby's love to watch G-Force or is my daughter particularly psychedelically inclined? She's got my wife's eyes, but I am thinking she's got my affection for beautiful visual music.

While I think that's cool and all... And you can do whatever you want with your family, etc. There are many out there that believe TV, and especially crazy moving color visual madness!, on a TV - is very bad for infants brains and their developement...

Obviously, your favorite search engine can show you a plethora of more information... But like I said, I'm neither for nor against, and I have no kids, but just thought I'd point this out in case some are unaware of this ongoing debate.

I guess, (and I know you're just joking around  ) but I'm sure we have all heard following:

"Guns (or the Glock CEO's) don't kill people, people kill people."

"Beer (or the makers of Budweiser) doesn't kill people, dumb-asses that drive drunk do."

And yes, the references to death are extreme compared to rotting brains, but maybe you see where I'm going...

"Duck Tales and crazy video games didn't make me retarded, my mother did for letting me rot in front of the t.v."

But - whatever, G-Force is not responsible for my retarded ass either! Here's to hoping Andy never gets slapped with a lawsuit from some clubber stating "G-Force sent me into convulsions and I swalowed my tongue!"

yeah I was joking I dont believe that tv makes kids bad thinkers, I watched a lot of tv and I never had any of the problems with my attention span as evidenced by the fact that I can listen to a 30 or 40 minute piece of music without batting an eye.

also recently I took an IQ test { I know it doesnt prove much } but I scored 144 which is damn good.

as far as G-force causing epileptic seziures I have never had a problem , but I do get a mad headache when playing certain games, like twisted metal, and unreal tournement and I can no longer play them with my son.

if you want to know why students fall asleep in class or cannot pay attention to the teacher for more than afew minutes its becaue the teaching methods are extremely boring and dont engage kids in an imaginative way.

I would totally agree with that. I'm in the same boat. Although, my original comment was just for educational purposes for parents/future parents that some in the medical community believe tv/crazy lights/etc. to have an affect on infant brain developement. That's all... I hope no one in the community thinks I'm implying anything else here!

I, sadly, never took one of those. I'm not even sure how the scoring system works. :? They make me think of that Seinfeld episode, though...

I would agree. That's definately why I fell asleep, anywayz... I had a teacher that simply read aloud out of the book in monotone. So, History was excruciating for me!

Animusic

Post by mysticeti »

Somewhat apropos (animation synched/keyed to music) --- Animusic is pretty cool. I think kids get a kick out of it. Anyway, I got a kick out of it and I'm just a kid at heart. ;-)

http://www.animusic.com/ has some sample clips.
