Just downloaded the beta. Toolbar is SUCH a time-saver!

Is it possible to recall a theme, in the same way that you can recall an individual script?

Also, when working on a theme, can't I click on Save without having to type in a new theme name? I'd just like to work on a theme, then hit Save.

Thanks again... superb work!

Are you sure that you don't have smooth flowfield switching on and that you downloaded th 3.1.3 beta after PM EST? The prev/next buttons for FlowFields seem to work fine.

andy
So smooth flowfield switching makes switching from one flowfield to the next impossible (that was the problem BTW)?
No, just press the button once and wait a few seconds and watch.

Andy
Cool. In a future version it might be useful to have some kind of indicator that the button press worked (i.e. have the next flowfield name be displayed rather than keeping it the same).

Also, this is a minor niggly with me but I always like it when the name of the downloadable zip file is the same as the .dmg file. That way, when the file is unzipped it displays just above the original zip file in the Finder. For those of us who have large download folders with lots of files, it saves having to hunt through the list for the unzipped file. In the case of the beta the .zip is named "G-Force_313_Platinum_Beta.zip" while the dmg is named "G-Force 3.1.3 (Platinum).dmg". In my case, the underscore after "G-Force" ended up being separated a ways.

Like I said, it is a minor thing but makes the download and install process more elegant.

Thanks!

Sorry if I'm missing something here, but...

When working on a Theme, why do I have to save it as a new file name every time I want to save it? I just want to be able to click on Save as I'm working on one.

Finally, is it possible to save a graphic and/or a particle in a preset script, as well as the WS, CM, and FF?

Thanks!

more suggestions for OS X toolbar

Post by beeblebrox »

Andy: After running the latest beta version of the toolbar for a little while I now have a few more suggestions and notations:

1. I still cannot get the chill, fluid, and high energy virtual audio inputs to do anything. Even if I have the sliders all the way to the right nothing happens.

2. I have intermittent success in getting the WCFs to advance when clicking on the next or previous buttons. This is especially noticeable with the flowfields which often stubbornly refuse to advance to the next one. Sometimes by selecting the WCF directly from the pop up list then the next or previous buttons will activate (but not always).

3. I decided to try out the shuffle mode of the background graphics and had a hard time telling what was going on.
  • - One thing that would help would be for the sliders for frequency and duration to show actual timing. I couldn't tell if moving the slider all the way to the left made the frequency and duration less or more. BTW, sometimes it appeared that no shuffle was actually happening even with the check box checked.

-Can there a be a way for the graphics to cycle in order rather than randomly?

    - Is there a way to display inside the toolbar which graphic is currently being displayed?

    - Also, I would like to see a next and previous button for the graphics.

-Finally, I couldn't immediately tell but do the graphics dissolve from one to the next while in the shuffle mode or do they fade up and down?

Take care!
