Andy - Hello and Splash Screen Question

Post by quixotictonic »

Andy,

I am a new registered user of your software. It is OUTSTANDING!... Far superior to other visualizations for iTunes and WMP. I am glad you make/sell it. It's flexibility is one of it's hallmarks.

Is it possible to disable the splash screen or replace the logo with something I design? I realize the former will result in a black screen while it begins, but I would prefer it. No offense or anything. Disabling splash screens is usually the first thing I do when I install a new product. It's an aesthetic thing for me, especially for a program like yours that is all about (exceptional) aesthetics. In this case it just doesn't "go" with the style of my layout. I would prefer it clean without text or graphics.

I found a post from a couple years ago asking this, but a definitive answer was never arrived at. There was a suggestion (not from you) that the user kiss your feet for selling your program, which I will refrain from. I don't think you'll mind. Instead I'll just keep paying my registration when it's due. The implication was that the splash was a "plug" and justified for the cost. If that is the case then it is, of course, your prerogative. I just wasn't expecting that since it's a common option even for free programs. I'd just like to know if it can be done.

Congratulations again for your excellent work/talent.

Chris

The splash.png image is located in the /soundspectrum/resources folder, just edit it in your favorite photo editor. Its like buying a $30,000 new car with that tacky dealer sticker on the trunk.

If I knew an answer would come that quickly I might have written a shorter question. Thanks for your response.

Funny you mention the dealer badge. I reel about them all the time to my girlfriend. Now to continue enjoying my luxury vis.

Chris

P.S. Any way to suppress the text showing version, registered user, etc?

I haven't figured out how to disable that yet.
