New guy adding text

Post by mattdice »

Hey I just got g force and my new macbook so forgive me if I'm a little slow. I have been trying all day to get text onto the screen. I have writtin it in the text editor, changed it to plain text and saved it in the sprite folder, but everytime I try to play it, it says there was an error loading.
Please help!

Thanks

inside the soundspectrum subfolder named Sprites you will find examples of how to do this.

open the text file named (track text) for an explanation.

Not helping

I have been through all that and it is not working? Is there anyone that can walk me through it instead of saying the same thing over and over? The Track Text page only talks about music. I tried this and it said there was an error loading. What can I do?

Thanks

In the G-Force folder, look inside the folder Sprites. Open the file (Hello world example).txt and literally change the text to something else. Then, using the toolbar, start this sprite.

@ Matty D
I have wrote in your guestbook. but maybe I can better do this here, asking you this:
Will you please help me with that script so I can use it in my small video's who I made with pictures, G-Force and music. I will try something new, with text, but I can't figure it out by myself.
Thank you!

Hey

Post by mattdice »

I not sure if I can help AS I've read through all the info on here and still all I can do is insert a tiny text that doesn't move. I have looked through all the forums and can't find anything. I have no idea how to write code so forget that. The only thing I can think of is the "visualization preferences" button but I can't find it and no one has answered. (I'm on a mac if that makes a difference.
I think this progam is amazing, however it seems unless you are a total computer wiz it's tough, since support seems to be lacking.
I would suggest adding text in photoshop, then saving the jpeg in the sprites folder in the order you want them.

Font and text....Help!

I do that already with the pictures, let them change in about 30 seconds, but I thought it will be nice to see "running" text.
But thank you for thinking with me.
