Stand Alone and Yahoo Launchcast Radio

Post by Jeffwhat41 »

Anyone know how to adjust standalone;( when I'm listening to Yahoo Launchcast) to be responsive like it does with WMP10? I've tryed using the + - but nothing. Adjusting the preamp isnt helping either. I have a Dell E1505 laptop with Sigma-Tel Audio. The toolbar has the default set as Sigma-Tel microphone. Anyone know if I need to set the toolbar different? The options I have are Sigma-Tel mic;Sigma-Tel line-in? and three soung generator options-fluid;high and chill.

I have a Dell laptop with Sigma-Tel Audio as well. You should have the audio input set to "stereo mix" to visualize the audio that's currently playing through your soundcard (the mic input will visualize the audio in your room, like you coughing or clapping hands :wink:). After you have the audio input set to "stereo mix", you'll see reponse scale/preamp settings affect the visuals.

If you don't have the "stereo mix" option, something is not right with the audio drivers. Try updating your sound card driver and see if "stereo mix" appears. If not, e-mail support and we'll take it from there.

Well,
Received a reply from Sigma-Tel. They can't provide any support.
They build their stuff for Dell;under Dell's config guidelines and arent allowed ANY leeway. I was told that if Dell did not utilize features of their codecs; I would have to speak to Dell. Fat chance of that;went that route already-no dice. So it looks like;unless I change my hardware; I'm stuck! It's o.k. I guess-Still have great control over WMP10;and the Stand-alone still works great Sorta a bummer about this laptop tho. If anyone has anything else to input-This laptop also has the Creative Audigy HD driver's installed and I can adjust bass & treble-but no way to change input??? Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Is there any way you can temporarily uninstall the Audigy driver to see if that allows Sigma Tel to work?

Oh, and I meant e-mail SoundSpectrum support--we have some more audio diagnostic steps that would be easier to go back and forth on over e-mail. Please reference this thread when you write in. Thanks.

Hi
Well Gorus;
I've exhausted all of my options-contacted Creative-They showed me how to disable the Audigy drivers;still no difference-Dell had no clue;all they could offer was that maybe the "person" using SigmaTel was using a3rd party application to affect a change that would give the stereo mix option. So if you could please help;I'de appreciate it. My e-mail is jeffwhat41@comcast.net Thanks,
