G-Force Toolbar Problems (Mac OSX)

I've just purchased G-Force Platinum for my mac laptop and unfortunately I get the following message every time I open and try to use the toolbar:

The toolbar failed to connect to G-Force in "Standalone (Running on PowerBook G4 17")".

Firewalls and network security software can interfere with the toolbar's abilty to establish a connection to G-Force. Try modifying your network security settings in order to fix the problem. "

I have no active firewalls or network security software?

Is anyone able to help me on this one?

Its quite bizzare, with each fresh boot of my laptop, the G-Force toolbar connects successfully with G-Force. But this success is short lived because the toolbar only works on first start up and not on any subsequent attempts to open and use it??? IOW, once this first successful instantiation of the toolbar is terminated, then I need to restart my laptop to use it again?

Embarrased! The toolbar can't connect to GF when my laptop is connected to the internet! Simple problem and one I can live with.
