New Website Design...Thumbs Up + Some Notes
This is a very welcome change from the previous design.
That said, I don't want to come across as begrudging the efforts of the previous designer; but this site is so much more inviting and expansive.
I somewhat assume you're going to take those parts of the old site and update them in the new temlate, in which case:
*I will miss the brilliant red of the G-Force page.
*I will also miss the soothing blue of the WhiteCap page.
*I won't say the same for the rather sickly shade of green in the "About Andy" section.
I also like how the screenshot snippet changes with each new load of the page. I would recommend my fellow users to send in more stills. I'm gonna send some of my own in soon.
Also, I've tweaked some of my older flowfields to demonstrate the A variablility parameter. The one's I've worked on didn't take advantage of this feature before, hence my updates. I'll post them here soon, as well as other bits and pieces.

Absolutely. I encourage everyone to send in good screenshots and I'll add 'em into the mix. I can only say, as aways, that i'm really picky and you'll have to deal with my picky and annoying eye.JayPro wrote:

I've got to agree with JayPro. The new primary page looks great! But it's a shock to go to level II and see his beloved red and blue, but maybe they should be kept, 'cause everyone is used to them, but on the other hand... maybe they should be changed to match Page-1... weighty issue here. Does anyone want to take a vote? How about keeping the good old red and blue with a nice gray border to fit in with Page-1? Any other suggestions. It does need to tie in better some way for a more consistent look thoughout.
Take care.

I lean ever so slightly towards the opinion that it should be Andy's call. However, the slight breeze of a deafeningly heartfelt opinion to the contrary in my direction can very well change that.
But I would say this: If he does want to keep the original tri-color pages to some degree, I suppose they can be embedded within the framework of the new page, no?
If we decide to do something like that, IMVHO, I say:
keep the red...
keep the blue...
**Lose The Green**.
No mater what I set my monitor's color display to, I'll get either a weak-kneed, pastel-ish sea green or something along the shade of what one would be likely to find on the surface of a handkerchief after a hearty, healthy belly-sneeze

Oh yeah... the green definitely has to go! From day-one, it has reminded me of something institutional and unpleasant, but I can't remember just what, the peeling paint on the walls of an old VA hospital, the 'rest home' where my inlaws spent their last days, months, years... definitely something I have otherwise managed to block out. Ain't selective memory a wonderful thing?

nice....but an anomaly

the site redesign is welcome, although, i keep receiving a ridiculous error when attempting to download the latest gold build:
--------
Method Not Allowed
The requested method POST is not allowed for the URL /g-force/download_gold_enter.html.
Apache/1.3.29 Server at soundspectrum.com Port 80
--------
i receive this error regardless of browser. this includes safari, firefox, navigator, IE and omniweb. in addition, the license code input box is already populated with "SCRIPT_STR1" within the field and strangely, the same "SCRIPT_STR1" is above it. never witnessed this before on the old site. evidence of a building error?? please pass this on to the webmaster.

Erich!
Erich, long time no see...
If my suspicions serve me aright, I think what may be being done (name *that* grammatical tense!
) is getting everything on the website in line with the new site build, i.e. reconfiguring the Gold download page to fit the new format.
Of course (to quote a favorite comedian of mine), that's just my opinion...I could be wrong.

PS: Have you had any time to continue your effects-making? I would like to hear any news you might have. However, I can understand if other matters press hard enough for you to keep it on the side.

What page (or site) linked you to /g-force/download_gold_enter.html ? That page is normally not accessible (and not intended to be accessed). If you follow the links from the main page you should be (it takes you to /g-force/nph-gold.pl instead).Kodotai wrote:andy -

Please let me know where you got the URL so I can fix it, etc.
thanks,
