Nice new Forum Layout

Post by Orbstah »

Hey nice new layout and colours, feels more like a proper part than a default forum page.

I go away for a week or so and a new forum pops up.

I like it alot though very pleasant on the eyes. which is what we all need after a serious session on G-force :)
I'll come to bed once i've seen everything in G-Force.

Yeah, they look really cool--you can change the current style via you user pref panel. We have Anton to thank for the all these changes (Anton unfortunately has the thankless role of the the site's back end right now). Almost all of the site changes and functionality that you've seen has been Anton's work.

The new layout is PFW! But it does need a notice 'somewhere' that says whether you are already logged in or not. I had to cycle in and out to determine whether 'I was', and then the " Topics since Last Login" feature was useless.

BTW, Orbstah? Is that a very old picture of you, or have you inherited great wealth (or earned it on your own?), so you can be retired at an early age, or you just don't have to work; question prompted by the fact that about half of the postings on Forum seem to be replied to by you. I am retired, or at least pseudo-retired, and I don't have time to pay the attention that you do to this 'wonnerful' topic! Or... do you just need to get a life? The last comment was not nastiness; it was a true question. Most of your contributions are extremely worthwhile! You obviously spend a lot of time plugging at G-Force! I just wish I had the time that you seem to to work on behalf of G-Force... Kudos, man!!!

hi Toby,

Picture was from my wedding in January this year.

nah i aint loaded, i just suffer from insomnia, i maybe sleep about 4 -6 hour a night, more often than not its 4 hours i'm just hyper.

So i tend to sit downstairs with the headphones on watching g-force, and playing world of Warcraft. I think it is one of my fav visualizers of all time so i like to keep up to date on whats going on :)

I dont feel like i am working on behalf of G- Force, Andy, Key and Gary have always been very pleasant to me and treated me well in any personal corrospondences. I have beta tested for them aswell. So it's a pleasure to help people out on this forum. I belive the whole point about being on a forum is to offer help and support to others, and its something i enjoy doing, infact my day job is helping people so it kinda rolls over. So i dont mean to hog the replies but i tend to look at this forum at least once a day just to check

Something you never noticed is that i dont reply much regarding scripts, i just cant get me head round them so Jaypro catches all those posts :)

Plus on another note, some of the other themes for the forum like the bluetabs one has a clearer indication of weather your logged out or in.
Maybe they could modify the charcol one to include this too.
I'll come to bed once i've seen everything in G-Force.

Orbstah, thanks for your comments--much appreciated. Just trying to get through my infinite list of tasks... The default forum theme has been hurting my eyes for a long time ;)

The layout is nice, but the dark gray metallic background makes black text unreadable.
