disbale keystrokes and focus?

Hi,

I'm using this vis on my car pc. It uses a software frount end based on Windows Media player (called Frodoplayer).

The problem Im having is that the interface uses keyboard shortcuts exclusively. When I enter your visualisation fullscreen and then exit it the focus is still on the plugin and not the player, which has the effect of not allowing any of my keypresses to be recognised as shortcuts.

Is there anyway to disable this vis's use of keypresses?

Currently Im using the trial version, but would gladly purchase it if I can get it to work in my application as it is easily the best I've seen to date.

I'm not sure if it's really possible to override a particular media player's hotkeys when G-Force is chosen as the plug-in.

I hope that's what you're asking here, since I honestly use an iMac and haven't had that much experience with Windows' media apps.

I do have something called Virtual PC (which rots BTW) that doesn't use media players common to the PC environment to the fullest advantage. I think WinAmp works best; but I haven't used it in some time.

not exactly was I was asking.

I dont want to disable my media player's keys, I want to disable this vis from bringing itself to the frount, coz it causes problems in using keys on the media player when the media player is restored after fullscreen.

Did you ever find a way to disable G-Force taking the focus? I too have a program that uses Windows Media Player embedded and when G-Force is the vis it does not allow the underlying program access to keystrokes.

unfortunately not.

As it happens this was for a carpc setup, my main gaming pc died so Im using the one intended for my car at home.

Would still be interested in any solution anyone else has found though.

I know I am a little slow in replying, but it's been a couple of busy months for me, and I'm not going to be of any help anyway.

I hope you're watching G-Force while you're driving. It's dangerous enough out there with all of the fools on their cell phones. We sure as hell don't need someone driving while thoroughly hypnotised by G-Force.

Toby how right you are, i can see the headlines now,

Man kills 16 whilst watching G-force visualizer at 70 mph in car, Is G-Force rotting the minds of out kids and therefore to blame, Should we ban it or not. Andy up in court facing criminal charges for not stating in the documents that g-force was in no way to be watched whilst driving a car PMSFL.

Its only funny coz it could happen in America

I have seen it happen!!! While driving home from work in rush hour traffic during the O. J. Simpson trial, people with portable TVs propped up on the dashboard of their car so they could watch the trial... who cares about that car in front of them or that pedestrian in the crosswalk? I gotta find out what's hapening with O. J.!

I have at times found myself just sitting, totally mesmerized by G-Force's beautiful patterns and flow, especially with 3.0, but that's when I should be working on something, not while I'm driving!

I too use G-force in the car - (Boston taxi - see my post). I'm having a similar prob, though I thought it was unrelated -- my keyboard has stopped certain letters (a, n, and others) completely. Could this be G-forces fault?

I may be misunderstanding your thrust here; but when GF is within a given Windows-end media player such as the one(s) described here, that player's hotkeys take precedence over (read: hijack) the assigned key commands otherwise reserved for G-Force by itself.

So the short n' sweet answer to your problem (as I interpret it) is that any hot-key issue you have is not GF, but the media player that uses it.
