GF3 connecting to internet at startup?

Post by StRiPeS »

I just upgraded from 2.8 to the version 3 platinum and the toolbar tries to connect to the internet every time its starts. Just wondering what information it's sending?

Btw excellent job on version 3. It's awesome :)

It's probably just checking for New Versions of G-force.

Yeah, it's just checking to see what the current version is. If you like, you can actually see (and visit) the URL it's trying to load (just copy and paste the URL your system intercepts). You'll discover that you'll get a text page with a few lines of text which will contain the "current" version of G-Force (which is still at 2.8.1 until a few days after we got 3.0.1 out the door to ensure that GF 3 was completely stable and problem free). You can turn off this feature via a pref in the toolbar or via a keystroke in GF (press H for help).
