Stationary Sprites reintroduced

I would have thought that with the discussion at this post:

that the subsequent G-force update would have corrected the problem stated -- which is Sprites always appear stationary at the center of the screen. Clearly the comments in the file "(Default).txt" indicate that by default, sprites have a 25% chance of moving around the screen.

However, I find upon updating to the latest version that the erroneous values remain in that file.

Hi,
The comment may be in error, but did you ever consider that you might be the only one who really cares. I'm kind of a sprite-freak myself, pushing 2,500 of my own, and I could care less whether they move around or not... G-Force does enough moving to make up for static pics.

No I did not, nor is it my responsibility to do so. That would be the job of the software developer -- that is, to ascertain the needs and desires of the users and develop accordingly.
The comment may be in error
You may be quite correct -- perhaps Andy intended that Sprites remain stationary, and the comment is in error. If this is the case, the comment should be changed for two reasons. First, to clear up confusion among users like myself, who expected moving sprites as in previous versions of G-Force. Secondly, and more importantly, users are instructed to look at this file as a reference for developing their own configs, hence some amount of accuracy would seem prudent.

I am happy that you are satisified with sprite behavoir, and thank you for informing us of that fact. Moreover, consider me and the rest of the world impressed with your freakish collection of sprites. That said, I fail to see how any of that pertains to my original report of this error (whether that error lies in the comment or the variable definition). I'm simply interested, as a G-Force user, in having G-Force be the best product it can be for all users, which includes accurate documentation. On the off-chance that the individual happiness of a user named Toby is not the goal of G-Force, I wrote my post, and remain behind it.

It depends on which folder you drop your sprites into. If you look in the background sprite's folder's Default.txt, you'll notice that the X and Y are set to 0. If you look in the foreground's Default.txt file, you'll see the 25% thing in there. So, if you want your background sprites to move, just mimic the X, Y, and Sped found in the foreground Default file. It's been a while, but if you follow the signs in those comments, you should get a working knowledge of things. I'll be the first to admit it's obscure and needs to be redone, but it may not happen for a while (as I need to unbury myself). I can't promise anything, but it may get totally revamped when we roll out 3.1 (sometime this fall).

No, that's precisely what I'm saying, Andy. The default.xt for *foreground* sprites are set in such a way that so that they are always stationary, and has been for several versions now. I've just checked the most recent version to verify this. If I sound exasperated its because the first time this was reported, you seem to imply it was the user's fault:

However, release after release the problem remained. I posted a bug report, which was subsequently ignored. And your reply here makes me feel as if you're not taking the time to understand.

I feel silly -- I'm not some tightly wound loser who focuses on things like this. Yet keeping an eye on this issue has really left me fustrated (perhaps because I'm a software developer myself?).

I love G-force, Andy, and I will continue to use and buy whatever upgrades are in store for the future. But when I put forth money toward a product, I expect a certain amount of support (which includes documentation), and in this area G-force currently has been insufficient.
