1920x1200 fullscreen??

Post by ludeboy12 »

does anyone know if there is a way to run 1920x1200 fullscreen without the black bars??

even 1600x1200 would be nice without the bars.....i just hate to run it at 800x600 or something that low just to get rid of the bars.....

oh im using the latest version obviously......

thanx in advance....

If I am not mistaken and assuming you are running under Windows, if you go to 'C:\Documents and Settings\[YourUserName]\G-Force', you should find a file named 'Preferences [YourPlayerName].txt'. If G-Force is running, shut it down before editing, or it will overwrite your changes with its current parameters. You should find a pair of variables set at 'FS_X=1024' and 'FS_Y=768' and another pair set at 'MaxX=10000' and 'MaxY=768'. I'm not sure which pair does the trick, so change to 'FS_X=1920' and 'FS_Y=1200' and 'MaxY=1200', leaving MaxX alone. The biggest problem with this is that you will see a massive decrease in frame-rate, unless you have one bodacious machine to handle all of the processing required for 2.3 megapixels. My 2.2 GHz laptop with 512 MBytes of memory bogs down at anything over about 600x800 pixels. If you screw up your preferences file and don't have a backup, just delete it and start up G-Force, and it will write a new one using default parameters. Good Luck, and take care.

Glad to help out when I can... that's one of the primary purposes of the board, and I hope you will pass 'something' on to others when you get the chance. Take care.

Next time you should consider to read G-Force documentation before posting, it can really save your and others time - it's 8th topic in the FAQ: Why are there horizontal bands at the top and bottom (aka "letterboxing")?
