G-Force standalone and Sound Sources

Post by Zen1 »

So I am getting started as a DJ and am wondering what options there are in the platinum version for sound inputs. Can I use the sound output from my DJ application as an input? Or would it just be system sound as an input?
I use a mac could also rig something up with Soundflower, it's usually great for channeling audio between applications.
For example, I can tell the system to make Soundflower my default output, then use a program called Soundflowerbed to make the soundflower channel play onto my usual speakers so I can still hear it, then assign it as an input channel in an audio editing program to capture samples. So I could use this to directly sample a youtube broadcast, or something from a movie.. or assign it as the default output for DJay( my program of choice), monitor on default output with soundflowerbed, would I be able to use soundflower as an input for Gforce standalone?

Hello Zen1. Welcome to the SoundSpectrum forums.

First of all, please note that Gold, Platinum, and free trial licenses for SoundSpectrum visualizers are for personal use only, and any public or commercial display is strictly forbidden without purchase of a commercial use license. To discuss purchase of such a license and gain access to the Professional version of G-Force for use in your DJ performances, please open a ticket via the SoundSpectrum Contact page:

The G-Force Standalone application does allow for access to a number of audio sources such as built-in system audio, specific application output, and mic and line-in audio. Though, on Mac OS X, you would need to use the Standalone application in conjunction with Soundflower and Soundflowerbed (or other similar applications like Audio Hijack) as Mac OS X does not provide unrestricted access to system audio output. If you have any other questions about this, again, feel free to open a support ticket via the link above.
